By: G.Stryker Is it the offensive line, or is it the running back?* The classic chicken or the egg scenario for the NFL ground game. *Sunday, it looked like both were working together to create a beautiful performance by James Connor.**Both of his touchdown runs were blocked so perfectly at the line of scrimmage, Connor […]

When Conner is first team all pro and is drafted #1 in fantasy football 4 years in a row, Then you can say its the Line. If anything Bell made the line look good not the other way around.

I wouldn't go that far Williams put up big numbers the year he started here.

Blount, Williams, and Connor all put up 100+ yard games behind this line. Bell is benefitting from it. He's still an excellent back and our team as a whole is better with him in there. I just don't see him getting the same production behind a line that isn't in the top 3 every year.

Bell didn't make the line look good. As Coryea said, Conner and Williams did as well, if not better than Bell did. I look for Conner to average 150+ yards from scrimmage as long as he stays healthy. If he keeps doing that, it just furthers my thought (and many others) that Bell is more a product of the system rather than being far and away the best back in the league.

Why can't it be both just working off each other? This is a very good run blocking line and I'd go as far as to say Le'Veon's production will take a sizable dip when he's no longer in an offense with this line, a HoF QB, and one of the best WR's of all time

We didn't even beat the Browns. I couldn't care less about Conner's stats if we don't win.

Besides this
Conner is injury prone, a major downgrade in pass protection, and he fumbled away a win in his first start.

How quickly you guys forget the ****** running backs we had between Willie Parker's wheels falling off and drafting Bell and that includes Spin-then-fall.

This line is the real deal. Yes they had a bad game in the rain especially at tackle but the line opens up holes and leads the way on traps and pulls. This is a dominant line and all RBs running behind it will benefit.

so when bell dances around for 5 seconds before he decides to run its not the line holding blocks?

I've noticed RBs through out the league have been emulating BELL's running style but I've also noticed defenses have been adjusting and stopping that style of running. It is harder for an OL to hold their block for Bell's style so I can see why JAMES CONNER had a big day, easier for the OL to show their strength. As for James durability remeber BELL has been hurt too and wasn't last season his first full season in the league??? Is JAMES CONNER better than Bell.................... let me answer it this way......JAMES CONNER is the best RB on the roster hands down.

Uh... Mendenhall was a pretty good running back bro...

nope not having it

"Spin-and-Fall?" Most overrated Steeler RB in the history of the team. AND his fumble lost us a ring to boot.

Way to go Mr Peeples. What else do you want to **** on, steelers related, while you are still here...

Leveon is that you? get to Pittsburgh and sign so we can trade you

Mendenhall was a good runner. Clearly Newb never had to suffer through the Huntleys or the Moores or the Redmens, or, dare I say it... The Toussaints... Ah let's not forget the promise and ultimately the let-down of Amos Zeroue

Mendenhall had his moments. It was just mixed in with some not so great moments.

Many other players I would reserve the suck label for, perhaps more deserving.

Didn't rayray the knife break Mendi's collar bone or something like that ? It caused him to miss a big part of the season early, possibly his rookie year..?? Also it was so uncharacteristic of rayray to injure someone without the use of a knife........................

Bell missed time early in his career weather it was drug SUSPENTION or injury, James Conners rookie injury, seems the trend is rookies / early injury in their carriers.

Mendenhall was a mid tier back at best. We beat the packers in the superbowl without his fumble.
Conner is a great story, but he's started 1 nfl game and had 2 season ending mcls. One in College and 1 last year. Maybe thats not injury prone for some of you, for me it is.
