He needs more breaks or will be wiped out come playoffs. This isn’t a Bell thing as much as spelling him more often. He showed fatigue today big time.
They have to get Ridley in the mix a little more. Give him 8-12 carries to give JC a break.
Well if Le'Veon doesn't come back in the next couple weeks, he's right back in the same position next year, correct? He will be a decent option to grab a few carries a game to get Conner a breather![]()
I think Ridley's still in the dog house from his fumbles last week. They did bring Samuels in for a few plays. Even some ones where all he did was run a route and didn't get the ball. I agree Conner needs a breather every now and again. But, I think the plan was to work Samuels into the back up role slowly. Ridley's recent fumbling has accelerated that. Just not as fast as we might like.
On a positive note, it's GREAT to be talking of needing to give Conner a break because he's become so vital to the offense!
Where is Conner in at as far as league MVP talks?
Where is Conner in at as far as league MVP talks?
Uhh...you serious?
Let me be blunt: conner isnt winning mvp, better to be disappointed now than in late january
he deserves Pro Bowl mention, but far from MVP. Mahomes all but has his name on that trophy. There are a few Rams not far behind and Brees, as well.
I was just about to post this exact thought. Also Samuels was in the game a decent amount in the second halfRats knew in a close game that he was going to get the ball. So they stacked the defense toward that. It wasn't fatigue.
He has until Nov 13 to come back, otherwise he's out for the year. Not even sure if Mr. soon to be forgotten can pass a drug test.
I’m pretty certain they are running Conner knowing Bell comes back before the deadline and is exempted for two weeks and hopefully after that is in shape and wanting to show the rest of the nfl he’s worth that monster contract. Either that or we IR him and let Samuels get some carries. He’s looked very good so far

That may have been the plan in the beginning. I'm thinking that given Conner's success and how well the Offense is playing with him in, they don't make a switch to Bell. Why mess with what's working? And, why bother doing Bell a favor by letting him "showcase" his talents when there's no need? I hope they use him as a third down back and emergency option only.
