We spun that Miami regular season L last season into a post-season W.

I think given the weakness Jax has at the QB position it is normal to think we have a huge advantage over them going into this game. The players will be highly motivated to prove that 30-9 score was an aberration. The defense got raped by Fournette late and the offense had 5 turnovers and didn't get Bell involved.

All of those things are correctable.

I don't know, the throw that was picked and returned for six to make it 19-9 Jax, was Ben's 41st pass attempt and Bell only ran it 13 times. Jax had the best pass D, and at the time a bottom 5 run defense. So it was 13-9 Jags, a one possession game, and we had Been throw it 41 times, and at the time JuJu wasn't up to speed and Bryant was crap.

I agree with this. I think it was every bit as bad as it looked. The rest is spin and excuse making.

Jacksonville had like 180 total yards up until that 90 yard run. Its not we were getting gashed for 5 yards per run.
The game plan was stupid we throw it 41 times and run it 13 times while it was still a one possession game vs the best pass D in the NFL. Those are facts, not excuses.

and each year with that tweaking they inched a step closer.

Decent amount of things could be tweaked.

Mitchell isn't the answer at FS, he is a liability just as much as he is a help. Martavis hasn't regained that burst, at WR you could still use a better red zone option.

Haden isn't young, so some depth could be had to kick some of that substandard depth to the curb.

TE could use a playmaker who can stay healthy on the field.

ILBer is missing Shazier and probably for good. (prayers are still with him)

So a upgrade is needed for Spence who is a stopgap at best.

There is enough to tweak if you focus in.....

but it was in reality a combination of a trifecta of things. ****** game plan, that cocky we can pass on anyone mantra, and a bad Big Ben performance. And I am sure he would agree he sucked it up, despite a few tips that can be INT forgiven. And a run D that needed tweaking.

As well as WRs that arguably weren't at were they needed to be.

I may be remembering things out of order.

IIRC, Andrew posted a listing of the plays up through the first INT which set up Jax inside our own 50. thought his analysis was up through the pick 6.

Overall, in the first half it it appears there were 11 rushes and 21 passes. 10 if those passes and 1 run came with under 2 min left in the half where you do not have the luxury to run the ball much. That means, up through the 2 min warning, we were about 10/10 for run/pass. We end the half down by 1, which isn't terrible. Bells YPC in the first half was 3.1.

We came out in the 3rd and drove down the field to take the lead with a FG (10 passes 4 runs). 3 of those passes were from when we are on the 5. At least one of those should have been a run by Bell, IMO and, probably 2.

Next drive is an immediate pick 6. The next drive was a run for -5, two passes for 21, followed by a sack, an incomplete pass (2nd and 17), another pick 6 on 3rd and 17.

My belief is that Jville was playing to stop the run and we were not doing as well as expected. Tried passing with enough success to lead in the game. Two pick 6's later, the game plan is ******.

If you just look at the total runs/passes up through that point, it looks out of whack. Until you look to see that 10 of those passes were in the last 2 min of the 1st half where you wouldn't expect to run.

I wouldn't have wanted to come out with as many passes on the first drive of the 3rd Quarter, but they marched down the field and took the lead with a FG. Outside of 3 passes from the 5, hard to argue with the game plan through that point.

IF we lose to the Jags then we need to blow this team up. I also don't want to hear any excuses about AB not being up to full speed or Shazier not playing. With the talent and weapons we have on offense and defense outside of those two players is MORE than enough to beat the Jaguars. AB could sit on Sunday and I would still expect to beat them.

Either he is healthy or he is not and I hope AB is man / ego enough to know the difference.
