I bartended through college and through my experience I suspect if it was cognac they ordered it with coke or sprite.

One must NOT mess up good cognac or scotch w/ soda pop...Just a few ice cubes/ice globe or straight up...

Misunderstanding....I know the last time I was at a lounge, bar whatever and server said do you want another drink, I said sure thinking knowing it was a comp. How big was that rock?
