Jacoby Jones... we released Archer for this?

Archer was a bust and jones is washed up. Let wheaton take the return duties over.

Give Wheaton and boykins a chance

I believe that our former WR Derek Moye is on the Titans practice squad. For sure he's faster than Jones.

Boykin was a helluva playmaker returning in college. Sight unseen I guarantee he's better than Jacoby.

FINALLY, Lake explains his lack of playing time. About time someone addressed it (not that I agree with it)...

When asked what would need to happen for Boykin to have a more expanded role on the defense, Lake said: "Somebody else would have to be playing badly right now. I have faith and confidence that he can play. It's just that we're doing OK."

I'll say it again. Let Wheaton return kickoffs!

Lake's explanation seemed pretty bizarre to me. He didn't say Boykin was being outplayed in practice. It seemed he was just saying the guys they have put on the field haven't screwed up enough to lose their spot and give Boykin his chance. I may be wrong there but that's how I read it. Either way, you put the best men on the field, even if you have to take out a 2 year started for someone who hasn't started a game for the team.

Problem is against Seattle we need to be firing on all cylinders, and Jacoby continues to make plays against the Steelers.

Yeah I don't appreciate his explanation either. Blake gets torched often, although he does make splash plays as well. But he gets picked on routinely by opposing QBs. Boykin, meanwhile, makes plays when he's actually on the field. I purely do not buy the idea that Boykin isn't playing as well as Blake

Boykin=Tomlin's secret weapon bwahahaha

Just wait for it, "operation BB" will be unveiled against the Red Robin in the playoffs...and not until then!

For the love of God, no more please. Admit it was another stupid ******* signing and release him.

Jones was horrible today. That offense though. Ben and Wheaton are making a statement

Yet no team has wasted time signing Archer.

I read where he turned PS offers from multiple teams. I don't understand why but that's what I read. I found it, he had 10 offers.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/11/09/dri-archer-passes-on-10-practice-squad-offers/

Last week, the Steelers released running back Dri Archer to create a roster spot for receiver Jacoby Jones. Unclaimed on waivers, Archer became a free agent.

To date, Archer hasn’t signed with another team. However, he has had multiple opportunities to join NFL practice squads.

Per a league source, Archer has passed on 10 offers to join practice squads, including an offer from the Steelers. Archer, a third-round pick in 2014, instead plans to wait and see whether any opportunities arise to join a 53-man roster.

Of course, he could do both, signing on a practice squad and then joining any active roster. For now, he hopes to see whether any of the tailback-needy teams decide to give him a chance to show off his 4.26 speed.

The team with the most immediate need is the Patriots, who have lost versatile running back Dion Lewis for the season with a torn ACL.

Surprised the Patriots have not claimed Archer at this point

Yeah. It's hard to imagine them not signing him. I mean just look at the highlight reel that he's put together so far!
