I've got a few issues with the game:

Shazier, simply put, saved the season. Great play.

He can be a dynamic player if he can stay healthy.

I agree with everything exept the part about Shazier's hit being legal.

He clearly led with the crown of his helmet, and that's a no-no.

It may not have been "legal" per the book, but no WAY was it dirty. He did NOT launch, he was trying to get low on a shorter player like bernard, and he just happened to pop him right after bernard established himself as a runner

I didn't realize that TD celebration penalties are still enforced when that TD is overturned like Gay's TD run?

Sorry, but I guess I'm in the minority here.
While I don't think Shazier was intending to kill, it was indeed illegal and should have been flagged. He will be light in the paycheck, and the Steelers may be light a player. I doubt it, but I wouldn't be shocked considering the game in its totality.
There's going to be many fines/possible suspensions coming out of this one.
That was a garbage penalty on Munchak, and Porter should have picked one up for his instigating.
BUT, Burfect is an absolute criminal of a thug that doesn't deserve to be a human being on earth. I hope his fined, suspended, and cut never to be picked up again. What an absolute scumbag.

PacMan got the flag because he tried to run through a ref to get to Porter.

How did Gay/Dupree earn a flag but when half of the Bengals defense ran into the locker room after Burfict's interception there was no call? Not complaining, just a question.

Deion saying Burfects hit on brown was unintentional.

I'm not going to complain about the refs. The Shazier hit easily could have drawn a flag, and they likely would have scored on that drive. You can't lead with the crown of your helmet. We got away with one there.

He's considered a runner.. he took steps after the catch. Same thing as hitting a RB.

ESPN had a former NFL ref on after the game. He said the "Crown of the Helmet" Rule applies at any time, in any situation.

It's definitely not enforced.. I personally never saw that called at any point during the regular season.

Once a receiver becomes an established runner, you can hit with crown of the shoulder, crown of the Helmet or anything else, this happens several times a game.with no flag. The next time you see a RB catch a quick pass out of the backfield watch how he's tackled, many times it will be helmet om helmet.

The refs got both calls right. Shazier's was legit and we were robbed of a TD too, but Burfect was clearly head hunting and AB never even touched the ball.

The flag after that was spot on too, in fact there should've been an additional one on the player who shoved Porter. Burfect also got away with several othe cheap shots. I hope the next time we play this classless ******** DeCastro decapitates Burfect and then pulls out his dick to piss on him.

Love this win so much, seeing all the tears in Shitcinatti is ******* awesome!

Sort of... the rule interpretation he speaks of reads that the player initiates contact with the helmet as a "Ram, Spear, or Butt" done in a violent way.... if everything was called, every running back would be **** out of luck every other goalline play.

The defenseless receiver rules didn't apply unless they say he didn't have time from the catch to the turn to brace himself, but the key is he doesn't have the right to turn up field unimpeded... If he continues to the sidelines that hit doesn't happen, so they aren't likely to call that

in 2013 they tried to initiate that, it wasn't working as they intended and the clarifications changed the way its called... people, even refs, get it wrong constantly...

No problems here except I wish we had been conservative on offense (draw play or screen pass) on the play where Ben got hurt. It was 3rd and long and I think it made more sense to play field position there.

It was only a few weeks back that AJ Green punted the ball in the stands.........no delay of game penalty.

The rain was terrible. Given the fact that we had guys who haven't run with anyone but the practice squad out there, I think they did pretty well. It was a VERY conservative game plan. I think they knew Burfict was going to try something so they wanted to limit his opportunities by running lots and keeping the passing game quick and short.

Ben should NEVER have been trying to throw on that 3rd and long. We got the INT, we shut them down and broke their hearts. All we needed to do was eat some clock and punt away and make them work clock and get more and more nervous. Instead we gave them Ben. Burfict is a ******* animal. Frankly I was shocked that it was a clean hit. I really was.

Check C Pollock's thread......."clean" is in the eye of the beholder.

Been wondering about that too. If the TD never happened the celebration should be treated the same. Never happened.

Good point. Inconsistency, thy name is NFL officiating.

Absolutely. Was waiting for a draw or a screen, it's standard call on third-and-long, especially that deep in your own zone.

Also, There was a bottle thrown on the field. When the crowd throws objects on the field during play, it's a dead ball foul and delay of game penalty to the home team. I believe it can also be a 15yd penalty, but I don't remember properly.

I think that's only after warnings have been announced.

I was frankly sickened that the announcing crew was very low-key about the Bungles fans throwing bottles and cans on the field, cheering Roethlisberger's injury, and the flat-out dirty play by Burfict. They basically ignored the first two, and gave a half-hearted criticism of Buttfict's antics.

Yesterday's game was a living, breathing example of who the Bungles are. Losing that way? Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of guys.

On first glance -- and second and third glance -- it sure looks like Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier should have been flagged for this shot to the head against Gio Bernard, who dropped to the turf and fumbled on the play.

But a flag was never thrown and, it turns out, it was the right call.

It is not a foul but it is a fumble. Should be the Steelers ball. Not a foul because the receiver was a runner.

To recap: once Bernard take two steps, he's no longer considered defenseless, and high hits are perfectly legal.

It got worse for the Bengals; the Steelers challenged the play and after an official review, Pittsburgh was awarded the fumble, too.

How the **** is Wheaton's fumble, a ******* fumble? I've been watching this game a long ******* time. If someone hits the ground and his wrist hits the ground and the ball comes out afterward, it is not a ******* fumble. This is one of the worst interpretations, I've eer seen!

Shazier should have had a TD. The inadvertent whistle, screwed him out of a TD.

There is no 2 ways about it Shazier was the ******* man this game. 2 HUGE TOs. One should have been a TD. The other spoiled their chance to win a playoff game. This is huge. This is why we drafted him, and he was the difference in why we won today. Kudos Shazey!!!!

Burfect was the public enemy #1! He knocks out Ben on a clean hit after he was seen limping. Then he seals the game with an interception. He is fortunately touched on the INT, otherwise ti would have been a safety and we would have been up!. Ben comes back and he makes the personal foul on AB that puts Boz into chip shot range. What a huge range of emotion for that *******. I'm the reason why we won, to I'm the reason why we lost!!! Thanks Burfect for giving us our first playoff win in 5 years!!!

Ben and Brown will be ready next Sunday. DW may be ready as well. If not, I'm comfortable with TnT as the running backs. They did a great job today and will be solid enough to help us win in Denver next weekend!!

Not having Clark means our Safeties will be able to play next week!! We have a great chance with Peyton or the other guy. We can win another squeaker next week. Lets go Steelers!!

I agree on all isuess, except the RB's. They were decent enough.
