It appears the Steelers are gonna move up for Willis

For most of the last 15 years you knew what you were getting with the Steelers for the most part, which was nice because of Ben. Now, who the hell knows. Which may not be as nice, but is sure as hell more interesting.
 
Interesting in no way means better.
 
IMO, we are most definitely BPA in area of need (DB, OL, LB, WR) The moves thusfar this week were very Steeler like and gives us options @ BPA in Rd #1
 
Ya just signed Mitch to a 2 year deal. Trading up for Willis would be dumb as ****.
 
I feel dumber for having opened another thread about what is likely just 100% rumor mill, talking head, clickbait garbage...but it's better than working lol.

I'd be more inclined to believe a trade up scenario if we had excess draft capital or didn't lack gravely at WR, DL, LB, CB and S

Spot on. You can say the same for the secondary. Edmunds and Haden are gone. We need more depth there. We don't have a good history drafting in the secondary except for Troy 19 years ago. Lots of spotty picks since. OL/DL would be my choice to draft young and cheap for depth and hit URFA for MLB/DB/S as there will be veterans to be had that won't break the bank.

What's funny is that everybody and their brother was rumored to be the next Steelers QB...except I didn't hear much about Trubisky (other than from smart fans here). Then out of the blue, he ends up signing in Pittsburgh. God bless American media outlets.

Why take a lesser QB in round 2? You got Trubisky (and Haskins and Rudolph)...you can address again next year if Mitch fails with a better crop of QBs. That second pick should be filling out another area of need with a quality player. That would be my take.
