Is there some NFL Illuminati who needs the Browns to suck?

well I'll say I was shocked when they took Mayfield #1 overall and then Ward from OSU. Ward is smart player but the kid is small and struggles vs big WR's and in run support. The Mayfield pick makes zero sense....I actually think he's worst QB taken in Round 1. Absolutely awful mechanics and footwork for a QB. **** he got away with in college will never work at the NFL level!

50 Years of Futility for the Clowns! DILLY!! DILLY!!!

You had two blue chip guys in Barkley and Chubb. You take Barkley and see what happens at 4. Mayfield is there for sure. But Chubb might have been as well. I think they could have parlayed their two second rounds into Barkley, Chubb and Mayfield. They got the worst of the three and an undersized corner. Pretty hard to believe.

I’m sorry but Mayfield looks like a real punk to me and has bust written all over him.
My guy is Josh Rosen who is the most NFL ready. Smart, talented and gets the ball out in a hurry.
Geez! Anybody see interview with Lamar Jackson? I could barely understand him. Good luck with that Ravens.

Truly bizarre drafting strategy indeed.

The Browns were so damn good in the old days that it only seems natural that the cyclical nature of the world would make them suck for a long time.

I'm definitely not looking forward to the day when they get good again. And they will. It might be by accident, or maybe they just sell the team to someone who knows what they are doing. It doesn't matter. Eventually it will happen. And I'll tell you this right now...If you think patsie fans are insufferable, wait until you get a load of the ******** Browns fan who's 'seen the turnaround coming for years.' Ever been thunderstruck by dumb? You will be. When they finally get good.

They learned nothing from drafting Johnny Football.

It's hilarious. They make the wrong moves every time.

Baker Mayfield, #1 overall. I still can't believe that. And he didn't even attend the draft. On Mayfield, I think he'd play better in a dome or warm weather. His arm is a little weak, WR's have to slow down a bit down the field. They will need a short to the medium passing type of O.

If I were the GM of the Browns, I go Barkley #1 overall, and trade the 4th overall pick! Judging by how much the Bills gave up; the Browns could have had that! But let's say Buffalo was the only partner willing to trade up to pick #4
I move down to pick #12 overall and pick and select DT Vita Vea*

And with the extra Bills picks at #53 and #56, PLUS my pick at the top of round two. Oh, what potential! Might well take Rudolph at the top of round two, and then BPA at need areas ( OL and TE ) with pick #53 and #56 overall. ( Best WR on the Board )

If the Browns were a species of an animal, they would have gone extinct long ago due to their stupidity.

If you were the Browns GM, the league would end up contracting Cleveland’s franchise.

Your hindsight opinion is irrelevant.

They clearly identified the players they wanted and rolled with that. But the draft is about value. If you value a player higher than everyone else, and you have a pick everyone else wants, then you can trade back, get more picks, and still get the guys you want. They are idiotic. And who wouldn't want Saquon on a team known for lacking explosiveness?

I hear the complaints against Mayfield and since he is a Clown, I hope he sucks. But, I watched him a lot. He is a winner. He is EXTREMELY meticulous in his training and EXTREMELY accurate with his throws and he has a cannon for an arm (way stronger than Manziel). I wouldn't discount him just yet.

But if the Clowns take Barkley #1 (which they should have done), they can get Mayfield at #4. Seriously, the Giants take Chubb or whoever at #2, the Jets trade up and take Darnold, and lo and behold, Mayfield is there at #4.

Just flat-out stupid.

Mayfield is way better than most here feel. Where I live he was on TV a lot and he plays to win, his arm is way better than many here question. He makes Manzel a non issue as in playing ability.

That whole running from the cops thing fits right in with the The Browns Rookie Training camp Orientation Day talk.

I don't necessarily think Mayfield is the wrong player. It's just, he would have been available at 4. They could have had Barkley + Mayfield. Or if they were dead set on Ward, they could have traded out of 1 back to 6, 7, 8, 9, etc. and still got him, and also got a king's random of picks in return

You remind me of a Browns fan, ill informed. I'm pretty some guys here could have drafted better over the years. Instead of commenting on what I would have done and why what the Browns did...well you don't go there.

Browns would use their last rubber watching a porn movie just before Miss America spread her legs begging for it.

If the current staff were drafting in the Brown's highlight years they would have passed on Jim Brown and Otto Graham.

I had mayfield as the #1 QB. Most of the other guys were "projects" based on measureables. You can be the tallest and strongest armed person and not make it. Mayfield is a winner and seems to have the it factor.

In 4 years Mayfield had a career 14607 passing yds, with a 68% completion rating.

In 2 years Manziel had a career 7820 passing yds, and a 69% completion rating.

Both QB's with similar stats. Both short. Both with issues.

Browns never learn.

BM = Bowel Movement.= Baker Mayfield...fits right in with the **** Stains.
