watching Thursday night football........... That cant be our Tony Hills playing with the Saints can it? That would make his 9th or 1oth team....

Years ago, pre-Brees, you could always count on ESPN carrying a Saints and Falcons game each season. And usually they were boring as hell.

So I just can't watch very much when those two teams play.

I'm glad he is earning and contributing to the workforce of society. Wouldn't want another TAXPAYER burden out there. Here's to many more years, Tony and God bless YAZ !!!

Why do you automatically assume that if he's not playing football his only option is to be living off the taxpayers?

Maybe he has a degree......nahhh can't be.

Why do you automatically associate race with living off of the taxpayers?

I have a photo too.....

Funny, when Hills came in to the game they announced him as the long time Steeler back up. Judging from his 10 teams were we his longest stop?

I would've called him a career backup who was drafted by the Steelers and bounced around "a few" teams. Seems like he was only here a year or 2.

Classic announcer not knowing many facts.

You could tell they had a piece on Snead prepared as well as they were wanting to give him credit on the TE (Hill?) catches. Mistaking a TE for Snead, body types not even close... Gotta get into the story one way or another I guess

Not intending to steer this thread away from football, you do realize that the majority of the "burdens" to whom you refer do, in fact, have jobs. The reason they qualify for government help is because they are paid so little that they simply don't make enough to cover the essentials... shelter, food, and transportation. In many cases they work for corporations like Wal Mart where you have a situation where the Walton family is collectively worth around $150 billion but somehow can't afford to pay for health coverage or a livable wage for it's employees. Just to put in perspective how much money $150 billion is, those four people have more scratch than the lowest third of the population ... in other words about 90,000,000 people (90 million). I'm sure I will be labeled a communist for what I'm about to say, but here it goes. Keeping that much money, money you couldn't spend in a thousand lifetimes, instead of providing a better life for your employees... i.e. the people who show up everyday and generate that revenue... is beyond repugnant. This especially true when you consider the government is basically subsidizing them by paying benefits to their employees. There is your burden on the taxpayers.

I'll give Hills props for sticking with his football dream. Not many 30 year old journeymen out there. I believe his pension has likely vested and he should get health care for 10 years after he retires. Many others would have given up on their dream years ago. How did he play?
