I think he's one disaster away from being ousted. If he betrays an owner with some dirt on him or gets caught between a major pissing match between billionaires, he's gone. If neither happens, he's still damaged goods.

How many more strikes can Goodell take before he's O-U-T.

As many as his BOSSES will allow him. He works for the OWNERS, and they are making serious bank. Instead of fans wasting effort to try and get him canned, they should spend the effort getting their Congressmen to eliminate their Non-Profit exemption. Hit those tit suckers where it really hurts.

1. Roger works for the owners.

2. The owners are making a huge ton of cash.

So everything is good right?

No, I don't think so. Why?

1. These owners all have generational cash. Their families are hooked up for generations.

2. After you have all the money you can ever need, what else do you crave? Power.

3. Here, Roger has a track record of not being fair in his fines, suspensions, etc.

4. You can bet that some owners are getting tired of seeing him and kraft all chummy.

5. Take reasons 3 and 4 and you can bet that amongst the ownership, there will be a movement against him.

6. I dont think the time is far away. Its the natural cycle of politics.

If the mistake is politically-charged enough, such as flubbing another domestic violence or sexual assault type incident, that sponsors begin pulling out, then YES.

I also think if the mistake is related to the integrity of the game (favoritism, turning a blind eye to cheating, etc.) and is proven, then also YES. The NFL would not be nearly the money train it is now if consumers lumped it in the same pile with WWE.

Other than that, I think he can still stay sucking as a commish as long as the league stays rich.

I actually think they lost several sponsors for the Super Bowl there were a lot of NFL commercials during the game.

Spot on. I can see the NFL going down the same toilet NASCAR finds itself in now. All because of greed.

It is hard for me to look at the guy on TV. He looks like a ****** crook..

Agree, barring another massive PR flub he will be there for a long time to come. When it comes to how he is actually doing his job, the owners are happy as pie.
The Steelers were bought off with the creation of the Art Rooney Award this year. They're not going to say jack about **** now. Ultimately there will be Jerry Jones and Jimmy Haslam Awards to keep everyone happy. Rog has obviously read "Machiavelli's Prince".

I hate this article because it is chock full of conjecture, broad generalizations, and opinions that most probably agree with but aren't backed up. The only attempt he made at providing an actual fact was the Q score thing, which was weak because he provided no context. What is Roger's Q score? What is a good Q score? What is a bad Q score? What are other familiar peoples' Q scores so we can compare?

I mean it is a horribly written article which is sad because I think we all generally agree with what he's saying. A thorough, well-researched piece could have made some waves. Maybe

As much as I despise what The Rog has done to the game, he as done so at the behest of the owners, including the Rooneys. Even if they get rid of the souless ginger, they will hire another just like him.

The only thing that matters is the money they are bringing in. The league under Ole Rodge is a big scoring offensive show case that has pulled casual fans in and is opening up the international markets. I don't think another massive PR flub will be enough to get rid of him. As long as the cash is flowing in Ole Rodge stays as long as he cares to. I don't think anything short of video showing Rodge giving the Sandusky treatment to an 11 yearold is going to force him out of the Commissioners Chair.

aren't we all pretty much 1 disaster away from getting fired

You are seriously out of your mind if you think Goodell is about to lose his job. He's hired by the owners to make the owners money and from where I sit the owners seem to be making more money than ever. Zero chance he goes anywhere

Should he be fired? Yes. Will he? No.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. As Long as the Fuhrer continues making $$$$$ for the owners, he isn't going anywhere. That's all this league is about now, dollars and only dollars.
