Is Murray Really going #1

Who has a lot of faith in those Big 12 defenses?

Who thinks Murray, who's under 200 pounds can take NFL hits?

How many QB really make it under 6 feet tall? Murray is 5'10" tall. Not only that but Murray has extremely short ( 28 1/2 " ) arms, meaning it might be harder for him to throw over the offensive line and clear defensive lineman in the NFL.

Lots of questions here and Murray did not start a lot of games.

Is he a good passer with good ability to run I think so, but he's not worth the #1 overall pick in my view and will require a smart OC to tailor the offense to what he does well. Will Arizona take him? I think they would be wiser to trade down if they can get enough value.

he isn't even 5'10", that's bullshit. dude is 5'9" on his best day

Scuttlebutt out here is that if they can get a #1 for Rosen they go with Murray, thinking he will help ticket sales.

Honestly, they have many more needs than QB, and long term I think Rosen will still be playing when Murray busts.

Russell Wilson is 5'11" and is the highest paid player in NFL right now.

I'd be surprised to see them draft him and trade Rosen. That's just not smart business. They could take Bosa as previously noted and build that team up.

I get the comparison. I really do. But Russell Wilson was a third round no risk pick. He was paired with an innovative coach and a great defense. Hell sometimes Wilson takes a ten step drop. First overall for a guy this size is very risky. I either trade out or live with Bosa or the huge tackle from Bama.

He will get crunched in the NFL.

not going to knock a guy for his size, but the running is more of a concern. How many "undersized" QBs even get a legit shot in the league. Hell Ben is tall, but has a lot of batted balls... Is Murray worth the #1 pick who knows. Everything is a crap shoot. If they do pick him and he fails they will be set back many years. I am also not sold on Bosa either, but we will see. My gut feeling is the cards will take him #1.

This is why the cardinals will continue to be the cardinals, they've at best screwed with Rosen's head, ar worst they pick Murray and never get value for Rosen.

Speaking of disfunction, Here's hoping Chucky tips over the apple cart im Oakland and drafts a QB in round 1, Antonio Brown with a rookie QB...all those ******* in silver and black deserve each other, this needs to happen....

Could it be the reason Chucky sent all his scouts home is he doesn't want Carr to find out he's trying to switch first round picks with the Cards for Murray?

Could be, or its just they're just a dysfunctional mess, the more misery heaped on them the better.

TAKE the best defensive player. The impact differential from Murry to Rosen is way less than the impact of the best defensive player taken as they NEED "D" help.

Salute the nation

trade down and use all the extra picks ro quickly build the team up

Murray is small. Fact.

The selling point is his baseball background. Because of that history and his speed - the kid has a fighting chance to be as special as Mahomes.

Just trying to see both sides of the coin...

I’m starting to think teams understand they need a top 12 Qb to make their franchise relevant.

IMO no QB is worth a top 10 pick this year and paying a mediocre veteran QB franchise money is not the answer either. Here in Miami most think the Dolphins are in Tank mode. I bet other teams are thinking 2020-2021 is the year to take a Qb and they will need to suck to get that high pick in those years.

Perhaps an NFL lottery for the worst 12 teams, weighted similar to the NBA or NHL might become reality.

Lottery for the NFL......that’s the stupidest idea you’ve posted Coach and you’ve posted plenty of crazy ones. 16 games to determine a playoff spot. Not 82 games like NBA and NHL.

The lottery was put in to prevent teams from tanking. Some NFL teams seasons are over early. They just are and you should know that. I think some NFL teams these days would rather plan around picking a QB high, then signing an average quarterback who would allow them to win say 6 games.

I'm sure NBA and NHL fans didn't like the idea of a draft lottery, but do now.

As for the NFL, it would be another ratings night/event for them to televise. $$$. It would also bring the lottery teams hope. You would watch and hope if the Steelers had a shot at it. Admit it. Also, being a Steeler fan we will likely never have a top 3 pick. Put to you this way its been 49 years since we had a top three pick, you might never live to see it happen again, however with a lottery, we might get lucky on a 6-10 to 7-9 type of season, which is where we would be if Ben retired tomorrow.

I could see it happening. Back in the day Pete Rozelle laughed when he heard a network wanted to televise the draft.

By week 8 last year only a few teams in the NFL were out of contention for a playoff spot. The first team mathematically eliminated division wise was week 10 or 12. It’s not like the NBA where practically half the league is playoff eligible and the regular season is for seeding rights. Plus, and this is the biggest factor, both NBA and NHL have minor leagues. They can draft and develop players in the G league or various minor league hockey affiliates. The NFL don’t have that luxury.

Plus there is a motive for the owners to preclude it. Because then you would have teams influencing the cap by minimizing FA because they will have those 5 year first round contracts if they routinely followed the “losing “ formula and enter the lottery.

The risky move was hiring Kingsbury. A guy who couldn't win with Pat Maholmes and was fired by his alma mater. Don't hedge your bets now. Go all in and get the QB that fits his system.

I was never a fan of Rosen anyway. He always gave me a Jay Cutler vibe watching him at UCLA. He'd end up with good stats in many games but that was playing catch up where he was just chucking it downfield.

Speaking of potential QBs in the 1st....Daniel Jones looks like a Mason Rudolph clone to me.

I really hope there is a run on QB's early in this draft.

Same here. I keep hearing Daniel Jones is rated high by some teams. It’s a weak Qb class but as many as three can be picked before we select in round one.

Buffalo I think a team that can trade down if another team wants to move up for a quarterback.
