With the 28th pick in the 5th Round, the Steelers selected NC State Running Back/Wide Reciever/Tight End Jaylen Samuels. Yes you read that correctly, he played 3 three positions in college and excelled at all 3. Samuels is one of the most efficient players in the draft whether he’s lining up as a running back, […]

He seems to be a tailor-made backup to Bell.

See it’s **** like this write up from these so called experts that for years now have made me distrustful of their accuracy.
The guy says I can’t determine if he’s just versatile or really good at all these positions. That’s utterly ridiculous.
Look at his production at all of those positions and his productivity at the major division 1 level. He has outstanding numbers.
And way too much emphasis put on combine numbers imo.
This kid could be the steal of the draft in the 5th round and we got him.

I love the pick. I see Bell getting some rest on some third downs this coming season where in the past he didn't.

Provided he can block in pass pro

Dude had 76 receptions his senior season. At his position that's ridiculous. He was the top prospect in North Carolina as a hs senior. He ran for a mother ******* 2300 yards and had a mother ******* 55 TDs. How do you have 55 TDs ?? Honestly I'm surprised the Patriots didn't pick him up. He's exactly what they love. Able to play multiple positions and Excel in multiple roles. Obviously the kid is an intelligent player to be able to excel in so many roles. Maybe because he's not white the Pats didn't want him. Ha

He can play special teams, FB, RB, TE, and slot receiver.

We need to know the size of his head.

Can he return kicks?

Maybe.

Running back / receiver / kick returner.

If he can I got a good nickname for him.

Not according to our resident board jester. Senior Bowl practices and game along with the combine is the tell all measurement of a player’s success in the NFL.

Geez Ike, you have to be speaking of none other than Coach.
I guess to him what the kid accomplished at NC State in 4 years means nada then. Hell, just post great combine numbers and screw what you did in college. ******* brilliant!
Hay Coach, how many work out warriors have bombed out at the next level?

ANOTHER reason to be excited about this draft. I know BELL is a hard replacement but this guy may ease that a little. Many here have said that RB is the easiest transition in for rookies so let's hope this rookie transitions in real well. I hope well enough to start the first 3-4games well BELL transitions into football shape.

Salute the nation

i dunno. i think it's great we got jaylen, he looks fantastic and i expect to see some real fireworks from the kid, but as far as steal of the draft is concerned, i think i gotta give it up to the bears snagging anthony miller with the 51st pick; i think that kid is gonna end up being the best WR of this class

Looks like a steal to me. I am not a james Conner guy. Glad we upgraded

I like the pick because he's a RED ZONE player. A full back, with speed ( faster than Bell ) , who can run it or catch it. Maybe a better short yardage player than Bell. Also good on kick coverage.

With our OL, he could surprise.

Based off what ?

Based off what ?

He pulled it out of his ***.

Unsubstantiated jibber-jabber. coach is slow out of the gates, with a outside chance to improve his dismal 40 (Colt 45) at his pro dates. He is very slow at analyzing and diagnosing the play in front of him. Failing to make the top 100 board of posters. He simply doesn't measure up and fails the eye test. With little hovering above the neck. He fails to watch game film, when prompted his short arms flail around like the robot from lost in space. He comes across like a diva, but statistically I see very few catches on his profile. A minuscule catch radius. Mayock (or like coach likes to refer to him -Maycock) is rumored to have a very low opinion on this prospect, saying he is likely to go undrafted. At his workout, cooch mistook the short shuttle, for the short bus. Warning for other evaluate-rs, don't believe the hype. You are best to take this one off your board.

Combine results

4'11 1/4"
327 lbs
15" left hand size
4" right hand size

Would not look good in Black N Gold.

Don't think bell is the best short yardage player. When you need a yard or two and he dances around the line drives me nuts.

Did everyone give up on Connor already?

I think fans just wonder if he is going to hold up.

But most haven't given up on him, I would think...
