Is Jalen Hurts a viable successor for Ben Roethlisberger ?

New coaching staff, no WRs and mediocre talent surrounding him. By the way, the ONLY thing the NFL drafts on is potential and talent

I admit when it comes to following the Utah State Aggies I would classify myself closer to a moron than a Mormon.... all I know about the program is that it produced Merlin Olsen and it is a career 0.500 club

You raised some good points to explain J. Love drop off in production... but I would add one thing that "some "organizations in the NFL draft for ...... character ...... not saying J. Love has an issue with this and I just don't know enough about him to know whether he elevates the players around him

He also showed the Jameis Winston gene of generosity this season ( 20 TD vs 17 INTS) but some team will elevate him up the draft board based on physical skills and potential.

I watched some tape on him - he doesn't know how to throw touch passes. Everything is a fast ball...

If that is the case Berm , I dare say that is a better problem to have .... than the other way around... as I think you can teach a change up or touch pass

I don't see Tua falling to the 2nd round. I'd be worried about drafting him anyway. He's an NFL QB IMHO but can he stay healthy? If he were there I'd have to take a chance but he won't be.

if ur drafting im to be a long term qb you will need a few years to build a playbook around him until then you could use him like a kordell stewart rb/wr trick plays qb ala hill from the saints and a bit of the way the jags used denard robinson, when they drafted him. if he is there in rnd 3 and rnd 2 you get your te cant hurt to add him and then rnd 4-5 you bulk up the ol and thn add a edge rusher and punter

I love me some Jalen Hurts... but NO. He struggled to read the better college defenses. It can't be any easier in the pros.

Not to mention "Hurts' passing is the major concern. No quarterback held onto the ball longer than Hurts (3.08 average time to throw) in 2019, which in turn brought a lot of pressure. Hurts was charged with the seventh-most pressures of any quarterback this past season, and given his slow release things will only get worse in the NFL" because the players are even faster and more sophisticated at reading QBs.

Tim Tebow was better suited to play QB in the NFL.

I like the way this FNG thinks. Correct. Hurts is a one read college qb.
