By Liam Egan SteelerNation.com The Pittsburgh Steelers are in obvious need of a replacement quarterback for when Ben Roethlisberger hangs things up. Many fans are calling for that guy to be Jalen Hurts. The Steelers lack of draft capital forces them into a tough position when it comes to finding Ben’s successor, that’s why so […]

I don't see us using a draft selection on a QB this year. We will probably ride with Ben and Mason this year. Hopefully Ben has a successful recovery and can make it back to guide the team. With the rise on the DEF side of the ball we shouldn't have to put up 30 points a game to be successful. It would be nice to have a RB capable of more than 15 touches a game without getting injured as often as Conner.
Personally I see Ben being more than a serviceable QB for the next 2 years. Concentrate on protecting and providing OFF help for Ben over these next 2 years with the draft. Go Steelers

You know where my vote is...

Jalen is a high-character player that will keep his business out of the media.

Pretty sure from what I remember you are a Bama supporter....
I like Jalen but I do not think he translates to a team like ours.... mainly because I think our coaching staff cannot adapt and develop an OFF around its players very well
Now if the heavens opened up and Tua was available I would change my mind about picking a QB in the draft..... he has the it factor, talent and good decision making to be successful at the next level
Roll Tide

Nope. Maybe viable successor to Mason as backup. Next

Love his character but he isn't an NFL caliber QB. Could be a backup/ change of pace QB but he isn't starting material.

We are short of draft picks as it is this year. Can't gamble on a 2nd tier QB. We need offense help and possibly a "D" player as well. Higher priorities than A non starter

The only way that this makes sense is to Fire Randy Fichner and bring in Lincoln Riley...you know, an actual offensive minded Coach. Hurts isn't NFL ready by any means, but neither is Rudolf or Duck and they're on the roster. it's mind numbing.

There is no point taking another project QB. There is a line of them during the Roethlisberger era as long as your arm. And to my knowledge none of them has worked out. Certainly not as a Steeler but no one else either. Give the team everything you can and then when it's time to move on use a first.

bring in Lincoln Riley to be what...the offensive coordinator? Yeah, that's not happening. He's not making a move to the NFL unless it's to be a Head Coach.

he'll also keep his business on the sideline, holding a clipboard, probably for the duration of his career, assuming he doesn't volunteer for a position change.

So what? Are we supposed to try to replicate what the Ravens have? F the Ravens

use him like Kordell RB/WR trick plays as well as how payton used Hill, would take some pressure off ben to always keep the chains mocing would a a great flea flicker option to throw to any of these guys JUJU Thompson Washington Cobbs all 4.4.5 or under 4.3 speedsters. As well as in the gun he can scramble and create things, worth a shot if there with our comp pick.

3 TE I am really interested in Cole Kmet, TE, Notre Dame Pinmkney Vandy as he cal also block Albert Okwuegbunam really got see if he as some scots report runs more in the 4.5 than advertised 4.69 range at the combine and pro day.. Moss rnd 3 target

No way would I take Hurts as a QB. He might be very good for a gimmick QB, but not worth a 2nd round pick. Like someone said I could picture him being used like Hill in NO, but I dont think he has the size Hill has.

Not a big fan. Decent talent, but I simply don't trust QB's that operate 100% out of shotgun, run right away when facing good coverage by the defense, and run who rely on gimmicky, up-tempo college offenses.
