The Fan is discussing whether or not the Steelers are that good, or just benefactors of the rest of the division being so good at sucking.

You all are better commentators than they are, do discuss

Until they improve at corner, it is a little bit of that good mixed with a decent amount of them sucking.

Can't beleive "Peterson" isn't here yet...............................I know that is a pipe dream and I don't even smoke but dang maan, that's the move needed right NOW. As for the answer to the OP question, on any given sunday one team can beat another so I ask in response to the ******* talking heads is "whaqt about the cheatriot's division"?

Salute the nation

I think they decided not to make Peterson available.

In the off-season they need to bring one in though......... A clear upgrade......

the browns have improved, the bengals have a decent O, the rats always have that strong D. It's not a cakewalk

Yep the Ravens are a good team this year. Fucko has wide outs to throw to that can actually catch the ball

I cant see us getting out of the AFC. I could be wrong sure.

Corner is a weak spot right now as slash said. But our Defense as a whole is a weak spot right now.
Special teams are awful. Coupled with a perceived lack of focus / professionalism. Im just not seeing it happen.
Baltimore is the team to beat to get into the playoffs, but the way it looks we still gotta go through Foxboro, or KC.

Once more with a sucky first part of season, we are in the mix for our division. Yet off week not one mention of trying to find a descent corner to help what is obvious a poor secondary. Watching other teams play you see a real difference in how we play with lack of physically, intensity, and focus on the game. We have talent yet we have no imagination on offense with what appears to be the same offense we let a coordinator go because it lacked what Tomlin wanted. Defense lacks basic skills at times with poor tackling, lack of coverage techniques and giving up big third down and long plays.

A little bit of both. I think our level of talent is the best in the division, secondary notwithstanding, but coaching is average at best.

If we could get more pressure from the DLine and OLBs, then it would mask our weakness at CB and ILB.

Geez o man.... this is the dumbest media driven nonsense this week...

The Afc north has a better record than the AFC south, basically the same record as the AFC east based on 2 ties = a win, and the Afc west is just a game in front of them....

The Steelers record this year is 1-1-1 vs the division and their only other loss is to the best team in the AFC... by 5 points.... its not like they piled up wins vs this division

makes me miss Bryant McFadden, he'd be a good #2 in his prime

The Browns have had four OT games, losing two and tying one, and the Ravens might be a missed extra point from being 5-2. The division is probably better than the records suggest.

Keep that pass rush going and they'll look great. Give apposing qbs time and get picked apart.

Meh, none of their WR's scare me. Crabtree leads the league in drops...he has dropped 10% of his targets. John Brown is a decent #2 but he's probably more of a #3 on most teams. After that it's Willie Snead (mediocre at best) and Chris Moore (who?). They were a lot better off at WR when they had Steve Smith and Mike Wallace IMO

I do think their defense is legit. It's actually sad to think that we may have the worst defense in the division...it's probably a tie between us and the Bengals for 3rd/4th.

We are that good on paper. We are also under achievers with below average coaching. It looks like Kansas city will be a #1 or a #2 seed. We really need to beat New England, and get a bye week, otherwise we will need to go on the road and possibly play them both in their stadium.

I never did the math, if you took out wins vs Cleveland and Cincinnati since Tomlin's tenure, ( 25% of our games ) what is our overall record?

Maybe the fan has a point.

What's your point Coach? Pats have 6 games vs Dolphins, Jets, and Bills. 37.5% of their wins. AFC East is the worst division in Football since 2000, but you gotta play the teams in your division.

The AFCN is usually a pretty good division. If nothing else, all of the teams show up when it's a divisional game...unless it's a season finale against the Browns.

The Fan in Boston should be having this discussion about the Pats and the AFCE every year.

I'm sure you realize that the PRE-2001 CHEATRIOTS only had three fans. Once the cheater's started winning there became a BUNCH of bandwagoners.........jumping on....................who morphed into MASSholes.

As for the AFCE, by far the weakest devision in NFL football the past twenty years, bar NONE.

The Bungles are hardly comparable to Cleveland. They've actually been good about 40% of the time. The AFC overall sucks this year.

It's been a bit of a confounding Steelers season thus far.

After the loss to the Ravens, things looked bleak. Especially defensively. Didn't seem like they'd be able to keep the Falcons and Bengals in check, but they only allowed 17 and 21 points, respectively. Then again, this week Atlanta could only score 23 against the one-win Giants at home, and Cincinnati had just 10 points against a horrendous Chiefs' defense.

There is something to be said about the positive results the defense has had when Hayden and Hilton both play. It's encouraging, and the schedule doesn't seem as imposing as it did a few weeks ago (although there are still some tough challenges ahead, including road games in Baltimore and New Orleans, Carolina and San Diego at home, and of course the Patriots). Maybe the Steelers stay on a roll, or they could lose all five of those games...I just don't have a good handle on where they're headed this season.

I think the Ravens are a good team, and a legitimate threat to win the division. The Bengals and Browns will fade away. The Steelers are talented enough to win the AFCN, but the Chiefs and Patriots will be tough to get past in the playoffs.

Someone's been reading my articles ;)

Love Haden and Hilton. They make our defense click. Throw in a Peterson and they may be top 5.

Its not my point, the Fan is saying we are benefactors of the rest of the division being so good at sucking. By taking out the games vs the bottom dwellers we can disprove this. Since Tomlin took over do we have winning record if you take out the Browns or not?

I agree the AFC East has been the worst division in football for the past 15 years.
