It's been a bit of a confounding Steelers season thus far.
After the loss to the Ravens, things looked bleak. Especially defensively. Didn't seem like they'd be able to keep the Falcons and Bengals in check, but they only allowed 17 and 21 points, respectively. Then again, this week Atlanta could only score 23 against the one-win Giants at home, and Cincinnati had just 10 points against a horrendous Chiefs' defense.
There is something to be said about the positive results the defense has had when Hayden and Hilton both play. It's encouraging, and the schedule doesn't seem as imposing as it did a few weeks ago (although there are still some tough challenges ahead, including road games in Baltimore and New Orleans, Carolina and San Diego at home, and of course the Patriots). Maybe the Steelers stay on a roll, or they could lose all five of those games...I just don't have a good handle on where they're headed this season.
I think the Ravens are a good team, and a legitimate threat to win the division. The Bengals and Browns will fade away. The Steelers are talented enough to win the AFCN, but the Chiefs and Patriots will be tough to get past in the playoffs.
