Is it time to bench Jarvis Jones?

List their games played amount and results. Keep in mind Gildon was behind Kevin Greene and Worilds behind two pro bowl guys in Harrison and Porter

But when Gildon or Worilds got a chance to start they were much better.

Coach, you are not allowed to ask for context when it comes to statistics. When the stats support your argument, you pay no attention to context.
 
Wasn't Worilds everyone's favorite "bench him or cut him" player before Jones? Or was that William Gay?

No. Worilds sat behind Harrison for like 2 years then got a 1/2 season under him when Woodley went down. He showed some juice. Steelers dump Woodley,, I think they Franchised Worilds that year and paid an ungodly sum for him to stay in Pittsburgh.

He had an average season,, nothing to speak highly of.. And then he jumped ship and went into ministry for the Jehovah's false witnesses.

He went into the ministry when that big free agent money did not come knocking. A good half season in one's contract year followed by a mediocre season with a franchise tag does not a big free agent contract make.

Not only that, but unless they bring in a FA he will be getting more snaps next year, unless the ROLBer that is drafted this year is a beast and earns playing time. For now, whether you think Jones is a bust or adequate he's going to be the ROLB for the foreseeable future until a player takes snaps away from him. IMO, he isn't a bust, he just doesn't make a lot of splash plays or even big plays, but I don't believe him to be a liability. Was he over drafted, probably, but I'm guessing many teams had him rated high on their draft board.

One other thing, this is basically his 2nd year, your rookie year is your rookie year, he missed most of his actual 2nd year and this year he is playing in every game a substantial number of snaps. The light could come on next year after another off-season of training.

I use full context stats when I can. If you want to compre jones to Gildon or Worilds first starting seasons it's no contest.

Many OLB's and ILB in 4-3 have more sacks...and that is harder because they are not getting as many pass rush attempts as Jones is.

Look- show me one stat, ANY that has Jones on top and maybe then, you might have a very small point.

The reason I'm using stats is they are neutral. I'm not cherry picking one or two obscure pieces of data, I'm using the three most important one to judge a linebacker.

Until then Jones is a part-time player, well behind his peers starting in the NFL. You just lack the stones to say I am correct, or just can't accept the facts...

You could virtually put any division 1 olbs plug him in and he wouldn't do worse. His oportunoty to success ratio is ridiculous. Total bust.
