So far, I'd say yes. More active vs the run, solid tackling, Good pass coverage and no dumb penalties.

I also noticed Golden playing some linebacker for us.

One plays free safety and the other plays Strong Safety so not really understanding the point of this thread

Can the mods turn off Coach's thread creation ability? This is getting out of line

<<< Pipe down, I sent you a cheesesteak in the mail. We have a young player on the rise here, I think. And he's signed for cheap.

The way the Steelers play their safties they don't have a major distinction between free and strong by the way.

Hey....does anyone here think Jordan Berry is better than Chris Boswell? So far, I would say yes.

I still think Coach's head is too big

Anyone doing any analytics on whether the Steeler holder has been playing better than the long-snapper?

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Turd Ferguson again.

Can someone explain to me why someone making a lot of new threads, with on-subject topics, so looked down upon? This is a serious question.

Obviously, some of you think Coach's threads are too abundant, but without them, this place would be less active. For the life of me I do not understand the anger over a few threads a day, that - although you may disagree with his opinions - do not seem inappropriate to me. I just don't know where all the anger at his posts come from. I honestly just understand. Could someone explain it to me?

Explain this in more detail. The strong safety plays on the TE side, right? So, that means the SS covers TEs while the FS typically does not, right?

The Steelers do not flip their safeties from one side of the field to the other in general, so if the TE moves to the other side for a few plays, the other ( Free safety ) can covers him. So there is really not a distinction between the strong and free in our system. They pretty much split the field in many cover formations.

They can skip my posts. I won't feel bad about it, honest!

I don't get all of the hate for Mitchell by some. Besides that first season he has been solid. I don't think he's been beaten this season and he brings the attitude. Golden has quietly became a good player too. He's shaking the special teams title.

81 what are you doing?? You have to compare them. Say one sucks and the other is good. Because they both can't be doing their job. No way no how. Get with the program.

Remember Ryan Clark's first year here and the hate he got for a few years after? It's kinda like that. Unreasonable? At times sure. Is it gonna continue? I'd bet so. At least until the "pundits" become more vocal about what a good job he's doing (as happened with Clark). Then it will be "He's become a great piece of this defense", etc. etc.

He is doing a good job. He just needs to learn when NOT to headhunt. That one big hit last game could have turned out to be a 15 yarder / first down. Glad they did not call it.

Other than that, I'm ok with his play. I'd prefer more turnovers from him, but.

My left testicle seems to be performing better than my right testicle, that's just nuts.

Golden should have been given the shot last season. Just like Harrison, The team goes to him a little late, but he's productive when they put him in.

This is comedy gold right here... like wig interviewing himself

Agreed. Sometimes it takes a departure or injury for a younger player to prove himself as a starter under Tomlin, even if the younger player has more ability and proves to be an upgrade. Golden is our latest example.

Mitchell has been steady back there. He played hurt his first season with the team. Now that he is healthy he has shown he is a big hitter back there. He's broken up quite a few passes with his hits. He's a positive for us on the field.
