Is Gerod Holliman the only draft pick not signed?

Troy and Ike are gone. Golson, Grant and Holliman were brought in. Just looking at the math, you'd think that one of the rooks might be in danger of going to the practice squad even if they all "show out" at camp. But the math doesn't take into account the fact that Golden and Ventrone were on the active roster at the end of the year and (if I'm not mistaken) so was BW Webb. There could be as many as 5 DB spots up for grabs that I can think of. Especially if the rooks prove themselves as able to play ST and are upgrades to Golden, Ventrone and Webb.

Wait a minute, can it be true, we are in complete agreement? When your right your right!:flag:

If hollinan can't tackle he isn't an upgrade over anybody. Ventrone and Golden are great at special teams. Good luck.

You can correct tackling form. Ventrone was on the PS at the beginning of last year and neither he nor Golden give you much, if anything as far as reserve depth. I wouldn't be sitting on my *** thinking I was safe from The Turk if I was either one of them.

McCain is gone as well. Golson is clearly a lock and Grant would have to be awful to not make the final roster. Clearly, Holliman has a lot to prove.

How long have we heard about Golden? Valuable player on special teams, but I've yet to see what he can do for us on defense.

Personally, I think Grant will surprise a few people. Not predicting that he'll be an All-Pro, but it wouldn't surprise me to see him challenging for a big chunk of playing time by the end of the year; and making big time plays.

I remember thinking the same thing. Also if I remember correctly Holliman had a shoulder injury in college and might not have been tackling much because of that. I believe he had ten interceptions his last year in college, so if he could translate that same rate to the pros that would be 16 per year, if he can do that I don't care if he tackles like deon sanders there will be a place for him. At the very least that would kill one chance for points for the other team. If the steelers get 7 points from the turn over just have of the time that is 56 points on the season.

Now that is a lot of ifs listed above but how many do golden and ventrone have? They are on the bottom of the stack and when you look at what was here on the top they are not to this point anything to write home about. The possibility for lots of turnover in the secondary this year is huge.

I definitely see him as a guy that we are talking about being a good player for us three years down the road. He will have the chance to get plenty of snaps with a good showing in camp.
