Have I missed this one? I did not see us signing Gerod Holliman our last pick in the draft.

Nope still holding out it seems. Mario Alford received $59,104 being picked one spot ahead of Holliman and Corey Robinson picked one behind received a $57,908 bonus. So Holliman is slated about $58,500. Not sure what else would be the hold up.

Thanks Fordie. Thats weird that we have everyone under fold except our last pick. Of course it will get done but just funny to me that he's the only one. I'm really excited to see what Carnell can do with this guy who has the ball skills and instincts. If he can teach him to take better angles and tackling techniques this guy could be a very good player.

With the new CBA I don't really know what the hold up is. Maybe he feels he should have went higher so we should fork over a little more change. idk. If he wants more money I would say give him $1,000 per tackle made and knock him $10,000 per tackle missed, wiffed, or not attempted. That should fix his desire to tackle.

Yeah, he was a 7th rounder for a reason. If he thinks he is worth more, he can prove it on the field, THEN get paid.

Could he be after incentives? Say a bonus per interception?

First AB is holding out, now this ProBowler?

I like that concept from Fordie and the Wingman. Actual bonus pay for play. Hell yes! Bonus for interceptions since we lead the league in fewest int's annually and bonus for tackles. Of couse like Fordie says, he wiffs he gets docked. Fair play!

I would love if all contracts had a base pay then a performance pay. If you are a 1,500 yard back you get paid like one no matter if you were a 1st round pick or a 7th round pick. If you perform you get paid.

It's frigging May who cares lol

I wonder if it might be nothing more than him not having an agent yet or some other non-issue that could be holding things up. Could it be some medical concern at this point no one knows, maybe they can't find the pen after the last time they hid the thing.

One of the beat writers said he is to sign once he makes weight per the contract. Apparently his deal has a weight clause in it. Why I have no idea.

With the slotted system, we're singing all of our draft picks by June. Without it, we used to go well into training camp for some. This is much better.

You know Holliman is 6' and 218lbs and ran a 4.65 forty. Do you think the Steelers want him at a certain weight to try to speed him up. I mean at 6' he could play at or around 200lbs and still be big enough to take on your typical RB. But if that weight loss increased his speed by even a tenth of a second it would help him in coverage. It is just a thought but maybe that is the logic behind it.

I would bet nearly every contract has a weight clause in it. There are very few ways to punish a player legally now in the CBA and not making weight is one. Also they probably need to sort out who is going to get cut in order to add this draft pick.

He's on the beefcake 5000 to up his weight to 250lbs so he can be an OLB to put his tackling powers to good use, they want some competition that Jarvis can win at the position

At last all the kids are signed. With a bit of luck these guys should make the team or at least the practice squad. There were two departures from the defensive backfield last year so there should be at least room for two additions. It would be nice to see the defense getting footballs from the other teams offense again.
