Is Ben to blame for AB going AWOL a few days before the team’s season finale?

What am I missing here? Finger pointing, selfish, divisive player? Ben is the first one to take the blame when it's not entirely his fault. Is he different in the locker room or field when he is not being interviewed? Maybe, but he seems like he cares about being a team guy and winning. If others know a different side, please enlighten me, but Sharpe has his nose where it doesn't belong.

Shannon Sharpe was Ray Lewis’s spokesperson after the murder trial. That’s pretty much explains all you need to know about Shannon and his opinion. His brother, however, was a better guy for analysis.

I will say Ben's side of the story doesn't add up. Here is what he said.

"If there was a blowup or something, I sure as heck didn't see it,"

"Roethlisberger called the magnitude of the story "baffling" based on what really happened."

He told the radio show that he talked to Brown on Thursday morning and "everything was great," but he hasn't heard from him since.

So he stated if there was a blow up he didn't see it but also said the magnitude of the story is baffling based on what really happened. So did something happen or something didn't happen? Also, everything is great Thursday morning but has heard from him since. His story contradicts itself. Personally I think Ben has just as much to blame as much as anyone BUT AB has always acted like a diva/child. Honestly nobody knows what really happened except for the guys in the locker room. I think everyone can acknowledge Ben doesn't have the best reputation as well. Reason he has never been voted team MVP before.

even when he got beat like a ragdoll Ben never threw his Oline under the bus, I don't know what is the media talking about

Ben has zero blame for AB acting like a self centered douche, that's part of his problem when he does stupid ****, it's always his fault.

here's a thought, maybe there was something small between he and AB, but also between AB and Tomlin or another coach that caused AB to go insane.

You are right. I had to look it up but he won in 2009. Also, I just saw AB was team MVP 4 times which I thought was surprising. I also don’t disagree with you in regards to how Antonio Brown is acting and honestly hope they trade him. His attitude and antics are a distraction to the team and hopefully we learned from last year that distractions can hurt the “team”. With that being said Ben’s story still doesn’t add up and think part of it is his fault as a leader. He takes a lot of heat but where there is smoke there is fire.

why does Ben have to call AB for a running a wrong route, where's Tomlin, where's Fichtner, the WR coach? I'd love to know how many bad routes AB as run this season, it's been several, and we know probably half of Ben INT's were intended for AB. Maybe Ben got tired of AB ******* around at practice, not showing up for practice and called him on it. I hope that's exactly what happened. That should be Tomlins job though.
AB has missed other walk throughs, practices, and mandatory meetings this season.

how come there were several reporters and none concurr in the same story?

the Fan this morning said some of the blow-up was AB yelling at Ben during practice that "why should he worry about running the right routes when Ben doesn't practice on Wednesdays" or something like that. Maybe this is normal in Steeler Land and Ben brushes it off, but AB does not. Friends and teammates get into heated, shouting matches, but cool off and reset. Their relationship doesn't seem so hunky-dory from what is being thrown out there.

If I was guessing I would say that AB is going through mental **** as shown by the furniture incident. Juju got a lot of attention and praise from Ben. It became a wedge issue. Probably lots was said by him about him making space for Juju on the field. Juju got the MVP and AB was just waiting to boil over. Ben said something and he did. But for Ben's part he has dealt with ABs bullshit since he got here and he is sick of it. He sees the way Juju is so he probably turns that knife a little.

Haha yep blame Ben, it was only a matter of time.

Not one local guy has reported this. If this did happen wouldn't AB have posted something on social media?

AB has missed other walk throughs and practices this season. The KC walk through was one of them.

Where the hell are the coaches if AB is no showing and then ******* plays up???

Listening to local Pitt radio it’s a joke. Worse than college radio. They are a bunch of clowns who only wash balls they’re a joke

There can be more than one problem and there are 3 of them in Pitt

I think you're looking for a molehill to make a mountain of.

Ben gets blamed for forcing the ball to the AB and throwing INTs, yet you don’t hear any blame goto Brown for being in Ben’s ear bitching about not getting the ball.

Is just unbelievable that some of these *** clowns try to lay any blame on Ben for AB’s breakdown. After the Bucs game, Ben apologized to AB for yelling at him about a route he ran. Ben shouldn’t have to do that but he does cause AB is so insecure and can lose his mind at any minute if he’s blamed for anything.

Thing is, it wasn't practice. It was the morning walk through that the purported incident happened. The afternoon session, which is practice nothing was seen or heard by media members on site.

THIS. You beat me to it. If Ben did that, which I highly doubt, then Tomlin should be all over Ben's *** as well as AB's. Ben may have said something, which all QB's do and should, but I'm sure he did not say "get his *** out of here". Come on guys. Look at what Ryan Clark said about AB, he has a very big and fragile ego and the $$$ has gone to his head. He is frustrated about winning or in our case losing. This falls back on Tomlin. The question is, where do we go from here? I say to fix this, you need new leadership / new head coach.

Most good WRs ***** about not getting the ball enough. Swann and Stallworth did it. Pretty standard stuff. Now if he isn't paying attention to details and not running the routes properly in practice and that is carrying over into the games, that's different. I am just starting to hear that kind of stuff about AB come out. Surprising as he is billed as one of the hardest working players out there.

I can practically guarantee Ben never yelled "Get him out of here" regarding AB.

Indeed the first reporter to "break" the "story" said Ben wanted to run the route again. That isn't Ben saying "Get him out of here." It's true, from a purely performance based perspective, the team really should have awarded the MVP to Brown. The fact is, he's drawing the double coverage, he's grinding game after game while JuJu and to some extent Washington, Switzer, and Vance get some glory due to having better looks.

Regardless of the reason, Brown needs to huddle up with the team, apologize for freaking out and they need to move forward with a clear and united goal. The entire team has to be set upon not only winning the SB, but simply dominating the season on a week to week basis.

You KNOW AB wants a ring. It's the one thing he needs to cement his H.O.F. status. He's not going to get a trade at all, but he's CERTAINLY not going to get a trade to a team that has better chances than a focused and driven Steelers team.

Tomlin needs to be told to just STFU and let the coordinators do their jobs. He should have no other significant responsibilities than talking to the media and organizing team lunches. He'd probably **** that up too though and order vegan.

Gheez,,,,,Gannon and Sims used to cuss out players in the huddle, on the sidelines, at practices....never heard they were the problems for those players. Always was chalked up as "Big time competitors"..."always wanted to win"...why is there a need to point fingers other than the culprit itself....AB?

he was benched for the 4th quarter or so the year we played Minnesota in London, I guess that was 2013, for running bad routes in that game.

Tom Brady was on TV screaming at his OC and throwing ****.

I'm not sure about that, like Ryan Clark said, AB is only worried about his stats, the 14 catches for 150+ and 2TD's vs the Saints was more important to him than winning the game.
