Iran

So, without firing another shot, the US is getting the Iranians to clear the Strait and open it for free use, all the while watching the Iranian activities so the US can keep the Strait open by force later?

Spoonfed Jizzer, in the negotiation of a more lasting peace, and economic control of the region, is this not a key strategic victory?

If Iran could be precluded from further blocking Hormuz, then the entire region's economics would be determined initially by the dominant power (US military) and for the long term by agreement and enforcement of an open Strait of Hormuz.

The rest of the MOU, like tariffs, is just the new American method of opening new deals by flooding the zone with busywork and frustration.
A for effort. A for response. However, gotta ding you for not including that Iran (and Flog, by association) was charging a fee for ships to enter the Strait.

You TDS commies don't understand what an MOU is. It's not a final agreement. Trump said if it doesn't work out, we'll start bombing them again. You people are retarded.
does that come with an espresso or cappuccino?

And here we are. Sigh. 😐

Maybe someday, when Trump & MAGA have been tossed onto the trash heap of history, America can be great again.

America is never going to be great again. It is already great. Has been for quite some time. You know what makes it great? Us. The people. No politician or political party can make this country great. All they can do is ruin it.

You want proof? Go watch the videos of all the foreigners and what they are saying about this great nation and the people that live here.

Tear it down all you want. All these years of naysaying have done nothing. The greatness of this nation will long outlive the bitterness in your tiny black heart.

It appears the fee free passage may only be for the 60 day negotiating period. Based on wording of the MOU reported in several places (the source for the below was Fox) the terms of passage beyond the 60 days are to be negotiated by Oman and Iran (with input from other Gulf states).

"5. Upon the signing of this MOU, the Islamic Republic of Iran will make arrangements using its best efforts for the safe passage of commercial vessels with no charge for 60 days only from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman and vice versa. The traffic of commercial vessels will immediately start and, considering the needs for removing the technical and military obstacles and demining by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will be instated within 30 days. The Islamic Republic of Iran will conduct dialogue with the Sultanate of Oman to define the future administration and maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz in discussion with other Persian Gulf littoral states in line with the applicable international law and the sovereign rights of coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz."
Thanks for the update.

Beautiful, poignant words. A bit odd that you give Trump & MAGA a pass, as to the utter lunacy that permeates the White House, but that’s your call. I happen to agree with you, that it is everyday Americans who make this nation great. The good people of this country deserve better leadership, and better governance, and it matters not which party it will come from in the future.

I'd be more concerned about Hezbollah not abiding by the agreement. I think Item 14 will cover off Israel, assuming the UN Security Council endorses the deal.

"14. The final deal will be endorsed by binding UNSC resolution."

Question is will Russia or China (or even France given they've been descending into weirdness lately) veto the deal?
You were demonstrated to be correct in far less than 24 hours:

A meeting that was scheduled to take place on Friday between Washington and Tehran in Switzerland to discuss implementation of the new deal was cancelled when Hezbollah killed four Israeli soldiers and Israel carried out a wave of retaliatory airstrikes in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa valley that killed at least 47 people.

But then they agreed to another ceasefire

Strait of Hormuz is closed again. Israel is still bombing Lebanon, so Iran closed the strait. What a shiit show.

I'm reading "The Controversy of Zion" by Douglas Reed who was a British journalist during World War II and he traces the history of Zionism and its influence on multiple and successive British and American administrations. Trust me, they have no conception of not being the head as opposed to the tail and there will be hell to pay either way because like mama, if they ain't happy, nobody will be happy.

It was far less expensive than the Iran extortion, helped 23 million Americans and you hoped it wouldn’t work. How dare you!
Irrelevant. I wasn’t questioning the cost. I merely shot down your notion that it was met with overwhelming approval by the public.
Will you concede to that? Yes or no.
And nice try with the “I hope it wouldn’t work”.

Concede that? Are you kidding?

ACA enrollment QUADRUPLED. Many of those enrollees are now without insurance because of the expired tax credit and increase in cost. Any care they do receive will be cost shifted to everyone else. Even though he had promised, Trump has offered no alternative. Yet another **** show.

Good Lord.
Im about to show you how you put your foot in your mouth again.

You’re blathering about the current popularity of the ACA.

In response to my assertion that you hope Trump fails with regards to Iran you retaliated with:

“You hoped the ACA would fail to the point of insisting it was despite its popularity.” -Trog

You are clearly implying that it was popular when it was initially presented. To which I proved to you wrong as usual.
A significant portion of the public expressed disapproval.

So you see how you put your foot in your mouth?
If the ACA eventually became a success story, then you must agree that what you’re calling a debacle may turn out as another win for Trump down the road. Correct?

Here is a simplified recap step by step.

Step 1:
You implied that the ACA was popular from it’s inception.
Step 2:
I proved you wrong by posting info that says otherwise.
Step 3:
You deflected by interjecting the cost of the Iranian deal vs the cost pertaining to the ACA.

Now read carefully.

Step 4:
I responded by rejecting your deflection stating that I was not debating the cost of the two.
My aim was only to prove you wrong on the comment you made…See Step 1.

Step 5:
I followed that up by asking if you conceded to being wrong based on the info provided…See Step 2.

Well? Yes or no?
