Steelers OLB Jarvis Jones needs wrist surgery and is out indefinitely.

Jones' rocky start to his NFL career continues. In 17 games since the Steelers took him 17th overall, Jones has produced three sacks and two quarterback hits on 803 snaps. He'll be replaced in the lineup by Arthur Moats.


Steelers ILB Ryan Shazier has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL.

Shazier is undergoing an MRI Monday to determine how long he'll be out. It's a major blow to an already shaky Steelers defense, as the No. 15 overall pick gave this unit the sideline-to-sideline speed it desperately needs. Now they'll move forward without RCB Ike Taylor (arm), OLB Jarvis Jones (wrist) and Shazier. William Gay, Arthur Moats and Sean Spence are the respective backups

Who the **** fills in for Ike? We need a FA signing or something here.
 
How about we let Blake play.. see what we got.
 
We need a backup OLB for Moats now. I think Spemce and Gay will be fine. I would consider signing a FA corner to play nickel, and maybe even talk Harrison out of retirement. Sadly Victor Butler was just signed by AZ.

Just read that either Ike or Jones will have to go on IR and end their season while the other will go on the short term IR and be able to come back later in the season. That sucks. I hope Shazier can come back in a week or two.
 
I say Ike we need him more. Sad we cant designate both. NFL and their dumb rules. Only one player
 
stupid rules, both need surgery, it obviously isn't a situation of stashing a player with a fake injury
 
Sucks for Jarvis after playing his best game as a pro, he raped the Panthers LT all night.
Hopefully he is back whiten 1.5 months, with the next 2 games we can get by but Cleveland and Baltimore we need him.

Kinda scary to think that there would be players out there sitting on their couch that are better players than the ones we have on the team right now. With Ike out we have 5 more on the roster gettin' paid already.

Allen, Cortez CB Blake, Antwon CB Gay, William CB
McCain, Brice CB Webb, B.W. CB

And ..Shaquille Richardson, is on the PS.

Why do we need a FA corner and why is So'oto ( who is on the couch ) better than Howard Jones, who is practicing with the team everyday ?
 
Oh my bad, I got So'oto and Jones mixed up.. You're right, I do prefer Jones

And I think we need a FA corner because none of those guys outside Cortez and Willie have ever shown anything worth noting in the NFL to my knowledge
 
if another CB goes down we'll see DHB playing CB out there, we are paper thin
 
Moats is seasoned, he will be an upgrade over Jarvis.

Spence will fill in just fine for Shazier.

Taylor will be replaced by a FA signing or Blake, who handled himself well against KJ best he could.

And he gets hurt on his only strip sack while being knocked off his feet? I have seen improvement from Jarvis but nothing that I would consider dominant by an outside backer in the 3 /4. His replacement came in and got a sack fairly quickly as well.

As I posted in another thread, he wasn't being knocked off his feet. He was being pulled by his facemask by the LT who knew he was beat and that his QB was about to get nailed. I get that some of y'all think the kid is **** on a shingle, but damn don't make **** up. And, Moats did get a sack, but he didn't provide the constant collapsing of the pocket that Jarvis was giving earlier in the game. I'm not saying the kid is a world beater, but his improvement can't be denied either.

Ike out 6 weeks, Shazier out one game according to ESPN ticker.
