Initial Thoughts on browns game

After seeing them in person, I have very little to complain about. You can always pick and choose a WTF moment during a game, this game was no different. They moved the ball around, they kept Garretts name from being called for pretty much the entire game and the OL opened up holes for the run game. Refs are refs, there are holds and illegal blocks on every kick that isn't fair caught. Like most, I expected it to be close until the end, but it never really was in doubt. I'll take that all day.

Next up is Flacco and the Bungles. With those weapons around him, the pass rush has to get there. Overall, I'm good with where we are. Suddenly we have defensive depth at LB and DB. Barring injuries, this team is as capable of winning a playoff game as any other AFC team, right now. Always nice to get to the Burgh for a game and seeing Justin and the gang at the tailgate.

And they were in Florida on Saturday, not a "Heinz".
And they look pretty damn good with that freshman QB I might add....

That Nov 15th match up with Notre Dame at Heinz is looking like a must see "in person" game for me!

Might have to throw the toothbrush in the glove box and make the 6 hour drive northwest>...
My youngest brother and several cousins are Pitt alumi....seems like fun to me! :)

Just because we beat a sh*t team with a sh*t quarterback doesn’t make us any good. Like clockwork, we’ll be one and out in the Wild Card round.

Did see him blocking downfield in one of the Warrens long rush

I must have missed his second successful block in this game. I thought up to this point Rodgers had thrown as many good blocks as Muth has had this year 🤣

Tbh I never saw him throw a good block for Warren this game. He did have a decent block about 8 years downfield on a Gainwell run around the left side that ended up netting about an 11-12 yard run vs #7. If he had a 2nd decent block that game I honestly missed it.

maybe was it the gainwell one? doesn't matter really who was the runner, does it?
it was a run to the left and he was out there blocking downfield, does it mean he turned a corner? probably not, but if we start seeing him more often blocking he might earn a few more snaps and get his trade value up

Hey look, Myles Garrett did have a better game than TJ. You just have to use analytics to see it

I'm sure Garrett had about a dozen "near pressures" though.

Seriously, that was about the least impact I can recall Garrett ever having against the Steelers.

I know the Steelers assigned extra blocking to him, but still, it's almost like PFFs grading system is custom made for Garrett.

Cris Collinsworth-less steering the ship.

Definitely doesn’t matter who was running, just making sure I didn’t miss one

didn’t want to not give him credit if he got two good blocks in the same game, as that would be a career game for him!

With the TE talent we have, this team doesn't need another WR, they just need Muth and Washington and Smith on the field at the same time, along with one WR, who in the world does the opposing team double? We have the talent, they just need to use who they have, there is no reason those 3 guys plus Metcalf can't tear up any coverage scheme they throw at you.

Joe
You should let the front office know, they obviously have a different opinion.
The Steelers have been trying to land a #2 WR in the market since last season in Aiyuk. Every headline has been about the never ending search for a WR. They are going lower and lower in the talent pool. More and more desperate.
