2015:
Senquez Golson, Round 2 - A terrible what were they thinking type of pick. Small, fragile and not fast. A slot guy only. Bust
Doran Grant, Round 3 - Okay I'll admit it, I liked this pick. He didn't run as fast as his 40 times indicated. Could have been tried at safety.
Gerod Holliman, Round 7 - Round seven, not much to crow about here.
2016:
Artie Burns, Round 1 - I was on record that X Howard was the better player. And he is by far. We also had a chance to trade down and pick up an extra 3rd. Burns looks like a bust.
Sean Davis, Round 2 - I took a look at other boards, maybe I troll him a bit too much but he's a weak link with poor ball skills and once again leads the team in missed tackles.
2017:
Cameron Sutton, Round 3 - I liked this pick as a 3rd or 4th corner, which is what he has shown. Assignment sound, just not very big or fast.
Brian Allen, Round 5 - The 52nd or 53 man on the team. He has looked poor in the pre-season games. Could be his last season on the team as he has not developed into someone the coaches play.
2018:
Terrell Edmunds, Round 1 - Many including myself felt he was a reach. He's been okay as a rookie. His awareness and coverage skills need work.
Marcus Allen, Round 5 - Too slow and with very poor ball skills, I think this was a bad 5th round pick.
Summary: The Steelers missed in rounds 1, 2, and 3. Our best DB's were Haden, who was a cut by the Browns ( I think we all wanted him ) and Hilton as a rookie free agent, who Tomlin has demoted. When Haden is out, this entire unit is just plain awful.
I am for trading for Ramsey and would be fine if we traded our 1st and 3rd to get him. We have the cap space, and he's a shutdown type with excellent ball skills. With him and Haden, teams won't be able to pass on us easily, and we can afford to play tighter man, or even bump and run. You'd have to assume Edmunds will be a little better in his second season. Davis remains, but I think he's a very replaceable type of player. Under such a scenario the Steelers would likely use their 2nd round pick on an inside linebacker.
