Yet another non call. Wow. I didn't catch during the game that he used his leg to push off.

I thought this was an illegal leap when it happened, even thinking they lined up over the center. Review showed they collapsed on the center QUICKLY, thus allowing Simmons to leap through. I'm not sure if his left hand aided him, but the rule states "Placing a hand or hands on a teammate or opponent", which he did.

I ******* knew it! I stated that in the damn game thread. They showed the replay and it was obvious he put his hand on the back of the center for leverage (leverage can mean to gain height or to steady your balance). The asswipe official they talked to said it was a legal block and I was yelling at the TV because the replay refuted what he said. And, the dude put both hands down to gain leverage, not just one. This was a scoring play and should have been reviewed. If they missed the obvious 2 hands on the backs of the players, every official that reviewed the play should be fired. It doesn't get any more obvious.

I questioned that durring the game as well.I knew most of the rule and felt he used leverage. THIS GAME OF FOOTBALL is getting worse and worse as the fix is getting bigger and bigger.

I'm not gonna say I did enjoy Polamalus leaps but this whole thing was bullshit. You cant stand over the centre nose on a field goal you cant take steps and I dont think you can touch him as you leap. Just make the ****** thing illegal. No leap over the centre. Period. Cut and dried.
Yep said it was a penalty when it happened, not sure how the official they talked to said it wasn't a penalty

And who cares about ONLY 3 points right? Just think if the refs did their jobs, the proper penalty assessment might have kept the drive alive for a chance at only SIX POINTS!
Kick was from the 30. Had that been correctly ruled, and a 10-yard penalty applied, we'd be in the Red Zone. The Steelers are #2 overall in red zone scoring.

Remove the final play of the game and ask yourself if that was still as insignificant of a call.
Good call. I saw it real time. The announcers mentioned it, then got real quiet when they saw the hand on the LS. Then tried to play it off like it wasn't an advantage. the rule is you can not make contact with a player if you leap. It was missed.

Old topic and it’s in the past, but was listening on Sirius last night and the blocked kick is actually getting attention in the competition committee. The rules state the player has to be stationary at the line (Simmons was) but no help from any other player (team or opponent). However, guest on the show (don’t know who it was, maybe a former GM) indicates the player on Simmons left actually pushed down on Canady after the snap. He didn’t touch Simmons, but he did act to prevent the LS from engaging Simmons jump over the line. He did say it was a bang/bang scenario, but back official who is supposed to be watching if the LS is engaged by the opponent is right there to make the call. Even weirder, Simmons did the exact same thing against Balt.and it didn’t get called either. So wouldn’t be ironic that another rule is modified from of a game the Steelers played in. How many rules need to be named because of Steelers games? We’ve got Blount, Hines and James...

Good snapshot Supe. It’s even more pronounced with the Gif. But I just question how has this not been addressed by the league? I know Harbaugh sent their block to the league, but hasn’t been any coverage by writers on it. Not even in Balt. Probably handled internally with Riveron and his grades on officials.
