In Case you were wondering what Lynn Swann is up to

And you thought my Steeler player eatery thread was lame.

Hey, but at least YOU care about this story.

This is news about a HOF Steelers player who lands a job at a major university....not some lame food thread

Yea, keep the censorship going. You know what they say about people who need to censor, don't you? Classic example here. China would be proud.

It looks like "You, Yourself, and You" find the Swann news riveting.

yet you are the one who keeps taking it back to the top......

Pat Haden has some health issues. Most people dont realize that USC has been on sanctions for the last few years. That's why they have been second tier even though on paper the have talent. Sanctions take your depth so you have to play kids who aren't ready and if you have injuries, you're screwed. It also hurts practice because the depth sucks so practice is not competitive.

It's not the first 2 years of sanctions that hurt. You have upper classmen who can play. It's years 3 and 4 and 5 that are toughest because then you have to play a mix of lower rated veterans and highly rated freshmen who are not ready.

USC stayed afloat and now they should rise again. There will be pressure on Swann especially since UCLA is good and the Rams are back so USC is no longer the only game in town.

I'm not sure if Swann can handle this job. It's a job normally reserved for people with doctorates. He may be in over his head, but at least it should help with recruiting.

None of the kids being recruited have any idea who LS is. Unless they have parents who make them watch old Steeler stuff, if something happened over 4 years ago, these kids won't know anything about it, especially stuff that happened 30-40 years ago.

Interesting choice, but maybe USC had something different in mind for their next AD. Swann is definitely a guy who you want out there as the face of your athletic program. It'll be interesting to see how he is able to handle the administrative end.
