Reading article in Trib today. Tomlin is a guy you can read between some lines. Im betting he does this gig and unlike Cowher he strikes while the iron is hot. And the Steelers get at least a 1st round. Jets came up. Perfect. If Peezy is gonna play game long enough they might have 3 next season.

Once again, he is holding out for the Tampa Job.. there were signs last year.. Tampa was gonna axe their coach after a pretty bad regression last season, then player intervention and the fact he had just signed an extension got him another season, but barring a really great season, he isnt expected to be back.. he is on a pretty hot seat..

Tomlin will come out of the press box as soon as they axe Todd Bowles.. thats where he wants to coach.. they have a prebuilt roster for the most part..

Who cares? Well ....at least I don’t.

It would be interesting to see if any experienced coaches would be willing to join his staff.

I'm not so sure about that. Tampa's quarterback is likely to be hitting free agency in March.

I personally don’t think Mediocre Mike ever comes back.
First off, he could never find a franchise/owner like Rooney that would protect him the way they did.
Owners want immediate results and they aren’t going years without playoff success unless your name is Rooney.
Second, what’s the chance Tomlin could ever walk into what he did in 2007… Young, SB winning franchise QB, solid offensive weapons, great defense, team leaders all over the roster, great coaching staff. All he had to do was not **** it up for the first few years. As the coaches and players departed you saw what he was capable of building, mediocre rosters with poor coaches. He will never step into that scenario again.
He’s not the type of HC that can start from scratch and build. That’s not him and he knows it.
I think he’s exactly where he wants to be!

"In the midst of this "still water", my straw is braced and ready to stir.

We have abandoned the flaccid taste of things we can not put back in the box.

My burger talk has cooked well for many years, the salad was an add-on feature many seemed necessary.

Tampa and it's residence will be my home, my liberty, my endeavor to persevere Freedom with-in the lab"

I have been doing some reading and it seems we will not receive any compensation if he returns next year.
That is primarily why I am not talking about him much. He will bring us nothing, so my focus goes on the here and now.

It really depends in the language in the contract. I don't have access
There was an option for next season but the deadline to pick up that option has passed with no report of them having exercised that option. The understanding seems to be if they didn't then he is free to sign anywhere next year.

It depends what is in the actual contract.

I was just presuming ( I know bad to do) that if it was in there that would have been known by now. As someone wanting to take the lid off….
