If one of the big three QBs is there at #25 would you take him?

Would you take one of the big three QBs in the first round?

I know I would be in the extreme minority here, but I would absolutely take Coker or Kevin Hogan in the later rounds. I think both have some potential...especially Hogan.

Call me crazy too - I can remember when AJ McCarron came out and wanted us to pick him up way back then. IMO, Jake Coker has all the same tools and, God-willing, he'll have the time to develop behind the league's best QB for about 2 years and the BIG PLUS - Landry Jones wouldn't have to give me heart palpitations anymore...

If we weren't a couple of defensive players away from the Super Bowl, sure. But we are, so no way.

Future is now... Ben is good for a couple good runs at the Lombardi. I understand your logic but there is no guarantee that the qb you pick and invest in will be any good. Stay the coarse draft for defense, shore up the secondary add more pass rushers. Let's go get #7

I do understand this argument. But the flip side of that coin is that Ben has been dinged up so much over the years. If he goes down for any amount of time it seriously puts the season in danger. This team needs a good number 2 and possibly a future starter. There's also no guarantee that any defensive player picked will be any good. See Jarvis Jones....
Thought I wasn't but looking at it from that perspective, I guess I am ok with them taking a QB early after all. Hmmmm...How peculiar.

Ill say this every time this subject comes up... Anytime you think a real franchise qb is available you take him, regardless of need elsewhere... Every time..... Ben could play till he is 45 or he can be done in game 1 of this season...

I spent my childhood watching mark malone and bubby brister because the steelers thought bradshaw was playing 5 more years andpassed on Marino....

Exactly this.

The thing is the three guys may not have a franchise grade and I'm fine with that. But if your guy is there and you're sure about him you take him, IMO.

6th or 7th round, no problem! We need way too much help on defense to pick a QB in rounds 1-4.

especially if Prescott is there...yeah, the DUI...so what.

I don't know that I like Prescott, only because he reminds me so much of Tebow... BUT the kid is a gamer and he's a really good leader on the field (and off, DUI notwithstanding). I would be OK with it, sure. I'd much rather have Hogan or Coker...Hogan especially

If a guy that you believe will be a great QB will be there at 1.25 you have to take him. You are talking about 12-15 years of a franchise. But it can't be a good player. It has to be a great player that has fallen because of circumstance ie. only 2 teams need a QB and there are three great ones.

I'm watching a draft show on NFL Network.

For some reason I didn't catch, they (Jeremiah, Brooks, I think Coolie) have Paxton Lynch dropping. In fact, they have the Broncos taking him with the last pick in the first round.

If that were to happen, and two or three of their favorite CBs are taken, the Steelers should take Lynch.

The bonus is that the Broncos wouldn't have a shot at him.

I think that someone will get a hard on for him and Paxton will be gone. I'd love to know how the Steelers rate him though.
