If I didn't trade everything to get Bell, this is exactly what I'd do.

#1 Get a FA QB. Probably that Cincy kid that we failed to get before the trade deadline, though I would make my strongest push to pick up Cousins.

#2 First pick in the draft is Barkley. Now my team has a homerun threat every play, who can run, block, catch and do it all. This kid alone will give the browns 4 extra wins. Plus he can return kicks.

#3 Get the best Defensive player with my #4 pick. QBs are going 2 and 3, that allows me to pick the next best player in the draft. Chubb, Fitzpatrick, Evans, it doesn't matter. Add to your strength.

#4 I'd Take Tate with the first pick in the 2nd, then go OL with my pick 2 spots later

#5 I pull Gesecki off the board early, he fits the role, and now the skill positions on my roster are done. Barkley, Gordon, Tate, Gesecki. Any QB should be able to be successful throwing to these guys.

These moves alone makes the Brows a good team. If they hit the playoffs this year, great. If not, we get the QB we need next year.

The big thing this year, is I don't pick a QB, if I want to maximize talent. Get the talent and the QB will excel. Cousins could take that team to a SB.

I dunno if I'd go this far. But I agree they should pick up a QB not draft one.

Fitz would be a solid second pick for them, probably the safer choice.

Tate might slip to the third round range with his so so 40..... maybe

If I were ths Browns GM, first thing I'd do is lobby ownership to go back to their proper uniforms, which were perfectly fine and had no need to be changed.

ALL very good points but somewhere in my heart I was hoping yopu'd remain a STEELERS GM.....................

Plus I was hoping Gesecki would somehow be a STEELERS at the end of the day.

Salute the nation

Just conjecture, I am sure Cope would never turncoat over to the factory of sadness.

Now Coach on the other hand might high tail it over there after we trade Bell to Cleveland for two number one picks.

I'd trade all of my draft picks to the Steelers for........;) A bad of fresh dryer lint.

Colts aren’t taking a QB. Unless you mean someone is trading up for Colts pick.

Those uni's are horrible. They look like a college team.

If I were a Browns GM.
I'd blow it all up, quit in May, change my name and move to Brazil.

There is no hope for them.

I knew Tate wouldn't test fast, but on tape, he has game speed. Just like JuJu. If he's there when we draft in the 2nd round, I'd hope he's a Steeler!

I hear ya right there with ya. I just think with so many WRs available maybe he slips like Bryant did... But I have no problem with him being our second rounder....

Browns don't need a TE, they have two decent ones, including a first rounder from last year.

I don't think Kiser is that bad of a QB if he had talent around him, I'd try to get Keenum or McCarron to compete with him.

Take Barkley #1, Fitzpatrick #4 and best receiver available with first pick in the second.

Use free agency to improve O-line and get a decent receiver (Marquise Lee, Wallace, etc...)

They could be a surprise team in 2018, not playoff team, but team on rise.

I do like their TEs, but Geiseki is just a matchup nightmare, you can bring him along slowly, and use him exclusively as a pass catcher/red zone TE. With his height and vertical, it is rare to have that type of talent as a TE.

What I'd do...

1. Sign Cousins
2. Sign Allen Robinson
3. Sign Malcolm Butler

Draft
1. Barkley
2. Quenton Nelson

we can **** on the browns. They earned it. For a long time. But just remember, before 1972. We were kinda in the same position.
It could happen. Doesn't seem likely, but it could.

They have to turn it around at some point, right? They have cap space, some talent in some positions and an abundance of high picks. They've f'd up a lot, but come on, this is it. The blind squirrel will get lucky.

If I'm the Browns GM I try to package some picks and move up to get good players. They've worried so much about the quantity of draft picks lately that they've passed up the chance to select some very good players.

if any of you were the browns GM....you wouldn't be able to type the words for your posts....you would be trying to write them on your computer screen with your crayons

That's the thing. This is their draft year. They stockpiled picks, not to move around, but to develop a team. This is a thick draft with talent, and if they stand pat, they will have a ton of it. If they want to improve themselves, I personally think they should wait one more year on the QB and pick one up in FA. We'll see what they do, but if they bone this draft, they will be terrible for another decade.

I hate to say it but you are right. this is the year they can become an nfl team and not just an easy win. 2 of the best players in any draft can change a team.

The Browns have been trading down and stocking picks for a while and that has given them a 1-31 record the last two years. They have to hold their picks and build a team now. To me, the way-ahead to start winning is getting a competent FA QB like Cousins or Foles (the Browns have the cap space) and draft Barkley #1 and Nelson #4. Probably the two can't-miss picks in this draft. They went D early in the draft last year and their Offense has to be addressed in this draft. THEN take top available WR with first pick in round 2.

Saying that....the Browns will probably not sign a significant FA QB (maybe McCarron), will take Darnold (who I hate this early) and have him on the sideline for a couple seasons, lose Barkley to the Giants or Colts and then take Fitzpatrick at 4. Good player but not an immediate need to win now. Just bad, bad all the way around with Fitzpatrick probably being a real good player but not enough to bring hardware.

Guaranteed they will be blinded by the whole drafting of a franchise QB thing.
