Should Steelers trade their #1 pick in 2017 to get him? I think we need to spend our #1 this year on defense and
Henry will surely go before we pick in #2. If he is available early second and someone will take our #1 in 2017 and
maybe a #7 in 2016, I'd make the deal. Get a valuable player a year earlier and lose what is hopefully the last pick in the first
round in 2017.

Steelers rarely if ever trade future picks, let alone anything above the 2nd round.

Why don't we have a #5 and #6 this year? If Ben's window is closing and you can get him another target
a year earlier, why not?

Give Jesse James more work and see if he turns into Heath's replacement, if not, then consider a TE next year. The TE in the Steeler offense and with Ben at quarterback is rarely the primary target, I wouldn't give up picks current or otherwise for a TE.

Henry is the player I want, but I don't think I pick him in the first or trade next year's first for him. If I could trade this year's first and pick up an early second with some more picks, I might do that. I haven't looked at the trade value chart to see what that might net.

I agree that he won't be available at our spot in the 2nd. If he is, I sprint to the podium.

are you new here?

No. We need more picks not less. If the Steelers could trade out of the first and pick up some 3rd-6th round picks and he's still on the board I would be ok with it. But we need defense badly and TE is a marginal need with Jesse James on the roster.

Personally I think Nick Vannett is the best all around TE in the draft. Not as good as a pass catcher as Henry but blocks like an extra OT.

I saw his film, I wouldn't draft him in the first or give up a first next year for him. Heck I think Maxx was a better looking TE last year that Hunter is. I probably wouldn't even take him with a 2nd rd pick, but if he's there at our 2nd round pick, I would consider him.

You don't get him another target unless he really needs another target, and that there aren't huge holes elsewhere. Our pass D has GAPING holes. Our pass offense does not.

And, we don't fully know what we have with Jesse James; he has shown signs of maybe being decent. Heath has another year, albeit, he's is pretty slow at this point.

We need, at minimum, a CB and S,and probably another OLB, AND could use a NT. That's a lot of needs.

I'd never trade away a future 1st, you can never be sure what you are trading away. The Steelers could lose Ben and a couple other key starters and lose a top 5 or 10 pick.

If there is no immediate starting secondary or D-line talent at our pick in the first and Henry is sitting there, I take him. He is a first round player and at a position of relative need for us. I would not, however, trade away next years first to get him in the 2nd.

Henry would come in and be our No. 2 behind Heath and could unseat him before the season is over if Heath has lost another step. Spaeth would finally be gone as I would keep James over him in a heartbeat. James and Henry would then be our TE's starting in 2017.

If you want the guy that bad, draft him in the first. Trading a future No. 1 is rarely worth a No. 2 IMO.

Exactly. We don't even know Jesse James' complete body of work yet.

TE is NOT a priority this year.

It would depend on who else is there at #25. I would draft him over some of the second tier CB's that have been link to us at #25. Not saying guys like Fuller or Apple are bad, but i think there will be players available in rounds 2 through 4 that are just as talented. In a nutshell: if he is the BPA, take him!

James is just as good as Hunter for what we need our TEs to do. We have plenty of weapons as is, it is red zone scoring that we need to get better at and James's size is more useful there than anything Henry would bring to the table.

Moving up in the 2nd by trading next years 1st?!

For a QB with potential to be the heir to Ben? Perhaps.

For a game changing pass rusher that fell due to character concerns? Maybe

For a TE? Hell naw.

As far as I am concerned, the only thing we need to draft on offense this year should be OLinemen.

Colbert traded our 5th for Boykin...then Tomlin did not play him. He's a free agent.

Trading our 6th round pick however was a good thing, by accident. The Steelers traded their 6th round pick for Scobee. While Scobee sucked, the search lead to Boswell, who's been amazing!

The good news? The Steelers should have three 7th round picks this year. I hope we pick better punter and perhaps a retrun man here.

TE is NOT a priority this year.

James has only been old enough to legally purchase a beer for 8 months. We have no idea what his ceiling might be, anymore than we knew after 1 season that Beachum could be a starting LT or AB could be one of the best players in the whole damn league.

If we pass on someone like Henry in the first, because we have defensive needs, but have a first round grade on him otherwise,
trading your #1 the following year, just gets you a first round graded player a year earlier. The NFL is very competitive, teams need to
think outside the box to gain an edge.

Because Henry would get so much playing time with Spaeth, Miller, and James on the roster?

I prefer that edge be upgrading CB /SS / and OLBer.

That is the edge this team so desperately needs.
