Im a human being, that shares the color of men and women that were dehumanized, marginalized, brutalized and bought and sold as property, told we couldn't read, educate ourselves. I wont go into details because that's a whole different topic of its own.
Essentially being black and subjected to brutality myself by police on one occasion, humiliated by state patrolmen in Arizona in front of my children and wife on a different occasion, and never been charged with a crime In either event, I know firsthand what this feels like---its my EXPERIENCE !!! Not a melodrama, not fiction or soap opera, but something we ENDURE. Its pretty ****** up that my white constituents seem to want to dismiss this as not as important or non-critical. And now with this huge blowout over the protesting to bring attention to a SERIOUS MATTER, America shows is nasty underbelly.
How many others my color or just a shade lighter fight, serve with honor, yet come back to our homeland only to be subjected to discrimination, profiling or social injustice ? It happens. We are just tired of being told to shut up, tired of asking to be recognized as equal and not criminalized before the encounter and forced to alter who we are just so we don't make others uncomfortable.
Never judge another if you haven't lived their experience
Something else we MIGHT wanna be upset about is the treatment our veterans experience after they return from war, damaged goods. There are 50,000 veterans without shelter in this country. There are on average 22 of these heroes they commit suicide DAILY. Pardon my language BUT, who the **** is protesting on their behalf because that goddamn flag they battled for aint interceding on their behalf. Think about that the next time that BANNER YET WAVES.
