Not that I expect it to happen, but will you still support him/them??

edit - By support I mean continue to cheer for them and buy their swag.

yes but I would b pissed

Support... this isn' North Korea where you and your family will be punished for lifetime of hard labor because you protest. What makes America great is the earned freedom to even choose to protest. Besides, i prefer this peaceful nnon-violent act than what has happened in past protest. Kudos to those men and women

So that's a yes? lol

no Not if he is in Uniform . In my opinion that is a type of protest .. so if I protested at my JOB I would get fired . So NO I would not support him .

They would be protesting while performing their jobs not on their free time., Cut the Steeler who would do this even if it is a superstar. Lets see anyone here protest against the American flag during their workday and see the consequences of those actions.

Or make tens or hundreds of millions of dollars for the completely trivial and unimportant profession of football player.

This is the key to all of this. As a US citizen you are guaranteed your right of speech, even if it is incredibly stupid.
However you do not have a right as an employee to to use your employers venue to express that opinion.

Rodger and the owners need to grow a pair and put an end to this.

If the media wants to follow these guys when they are not on the clock, so be it.

Want to help the "oppressed" go work a soup kitchen in the inner city on your time off.

Football is nothing but entertainment. No different than an actor or musician, where we use our disposable income to entertain us.

Would I like it? No.

Would I defend their right to do it? Yes.

I will ignore it. It's all about the media making it a big deal.

While I don't agree with it I support their right to do it. As a poster above stated they are entertainers. I really don't think I will compare their job to mine. I have been listening to a bunch of radio shows since this all started and the overwhelming majority (vets) support this. They all basically stated that they served to allow our great nation to allow its citizen to do this. It is basically what swayed my stance on this. A nonviolent protest is better than a violent one. It is bringing attention to an issue that needed some attention. At least in my opinion.

I know this is not answering your question, but with Alejandro Villanueva on the team, I don't see this happening. Not with any player on this team. Some may want to and it's their choice to do so, and i wouldn't like it. I've supported this team for worse things and this is a cause, a voice to be heard. Maybe misguided to take it out on our flag and National Anthem, but it's still their right. I do root for the team and not one player.

I just don't understand the double standard. Why is it OK for these guys to use the NFL while on NFL property in a NFL uniform to protest? It should be assumed that these guys actions represent the NFL and are condoned by the league. They are paid employees of the NFL and as so are representatives. They can't show support for Jesus, family, Allah, the 9/11 victims or former NFL greats but you can deny to show support to the flag that allows you the freedom to do so. Hypocritical as all hell.

All said though I suppot the TEAM. Individual players actions are a reflection of that and i would hope the team is smart enough to understand the image they send to their supportin public. This is a silly post that should be on the politics and religion site

There is no written law that states it is a crime to not stand during the national anthem is there? Non issue for me.

Absolutely, yes.

If you support rapist, wife beaters, dog killers, guys who try to runover cops why not support someone who kneels for national anthem

Didn't James Harrison Tweet that if he saw a teammate doing that he'd break his leg?

I would twitter bomb them, and tell them what I thought about their media driven action. And then I would never buy anything with their name on it.

This shouldn't ever be an issue, but the media wants you to get mad over it. I don't. It's every american's right to stand up for what they believe in, whether you agree with them or not. It is their right to do so.
