I was just sitting here thinking of how far the Steelers have moved away from Steeler football, and how locked in the Ravens have been to play Raven football. Raven football is essentially what Steeler football use to be. Brian Billick, John Harbaugh, it does not matter. The Ravens have kept their identity. I wonder if the Steelers have anyone left that even knows how to bring that back to Pittsburgh...

Steel Curtain Defense? I think we have finally gotten BACK to Steeler football.

Lol.....

I don't know man. You take the Ravens. They never blink when they play the Patriots. It does not matter the year. There are no dumb *** mistakes, guys running free in the secondary. None of that. The Steelers look like the old Steelers against average to slightly above average teams IMO. I know we are hurt up right now, but something is still missing. I dont feel the magic on Defense. I would like to see them against a real contender. See how the defense responds. You take that Patriot team that struggled against the Ravens and the Cowboys. They will probably still blow out the Steelers..

The Steelers did have an identity. It was winning with their star offensive players. All of those guys are gone so the offense is left without an identity again.

the Steelers have an identity. It's:

Be painfully inept on offense and struggle to successfully execute the simplest of plays, and hope that the defense can continue to play above water and save the day on a week-to-week basis. That's the new Steeler way.

I dunno, I see the vast improvement on defense, with 5-6 players playing at a superstar level (Minkah, Bud, TJ, Bush, Cam, Nelson) as a return to the Steelers way of old. A stout, playmaking defense that can keep the team in most any game. Our offense has been a wreck since Ben went down, plus all the injuries...if there can be nominal improvement on that side of the ball, this team is very well within the scope of what the Steelers have always been, in my view. Add in a plus kicking game with Boz, there are a lot of things to be happy about. If our O rounds into shape, who know how good we can be.... We're in a far better place then what I anticipated after that 0-3 start, that's for sure.

Hey, I love Tuitt as much as the next guy, but not sure I'd call him our identity. ;)
Lulz the guy on the other side of the ball.[emoji16] Speaking of I hope he brings back his dietician. He looks a little hefty...

Once the offense aquired 9 first rounders,......... Then we will have an offensive juggernaut !!!!!!

I’m holding one guy accountable for the culture change whether anyone else sees it that way or not, Tomlin.
It’s about time this guy is held accountable and I’ll start here with the culture change. This guy would have zero clue as to maintain a the culture of the Steelers. He’s not a leader, teacher, innovator, game planner, not able to adjust, gets constantly out coached by the better coaches, so why would anyone think this guy could maintain the culture.
What he is, is a guy who possesses a silver tongue that makes it appear he’s much more than he actually is.
Harbaugh saw his job was in jeopardy if he didn’t make changes and that’s exactly what he did building an offense around LaMar Jackson and a strong running game, while keeping his defense strong in the process. Could Tomlin do this when Ben is gone? I think you’re seeing first hand this season. We’re in trouble with this guy as HC and with Ben’s final two years if we’re lucky. No plan in place for Ben’s retirement and have zero faith in Tomlin to do what Harbaugh has done.

I don't know ppl are selectively criticizing. For any good ppl will praise Ben and for any bad criticize Tomlin. If any culture change, most of the part due to Ben.

Other side, I see main issue with Tomlin, he is not bigger than Ben in the franchise as Ben is established leader and had a ring already by the time Tomlin step in. It leads to lot issues over the decade.
