I think we need an injuries thread / Ryan Shazier, Jarvis Jones Injured

All I see anywhere are speculations based on the trade and the injury... not even an unnamed source rumor...... there is a lot of preseason before IR or PUP needs to be addressed

The D_p*t has a speculative article, where, I think, Coach drew his conclusion to grace us with another new thread...

Don't know how these guys get hurt like this in helmets and shells. When I coach we run thud only practices all the time. Its friggen touch football in equipment.

Losing Jones and Shazier is not the end of the world and I don't even view it as a big deal. It's not like either was making meaningful contributions; yea, they were expected to but they have not done it. Losing Ben, Brown, and/or Bell - that is the end of the world. Losing DeCastro and/or Pouncey is a big friggin deal. Losing players that have not done much and that can be replaced with other average players is no big deal. I would like Shazier to stay healthy because I think he has potential but so far? Meh.

Well it came at a good time. **** happens. I have seen guys hurt a shoulder weight lifting, diving for a ball on the ground etc. The kid can get healthy and does not count against the roster. The steelers grabbed a guy with experience to bring in that looks good. Golson would need to learn the playbook he has lots of time to do that. With any luck he is better prepared next year and healthy. This could actually work out ok for Pittsburgh as they don't need to try and hide a guy they are developing and it lets them get another guy on the 53 this year. The guy was not likely to be the next Rod Woodson but could be solid so they get a year at least to develop his game mentally and with film study.

It's out there if you look for it. Talk of shoulder surgery and season-ending IR. Tough luck, I feel bad for the kid.

Been there, done that, it didn't work out so well. Got a post-op staph infection from the hospital, needed two more surgeries to clean it out and spent five months in my living room.

Well the good thing is that the defense is solid and not at all a question mark

Geathers out

I think a certain maligned DE makes it now..............

Sadly he was already probably going to make it. Awful planning by the front office for defensive line depth. They need to give Keisel a call.

Yeah. I was not keen on this pick and even mentioned his light frame as a red flag to stay healthy in the NFL.

Bermuda, can ya pass that straw ( You're stirring the herd ). I'll be creating my Jarvis Jones has little value for the team if he can't win a starting job thread soon.

To be fair...it has been a day or two since your last JJ thread.

From what I understand(by listening to steeler nation terrible podcast) they stated the Steelers will have to wait I believe to the final cuts before they place him on the IR. I forget the entire reason but it has to do with him being a rookie. So if it is going to happen it will be a while before it does.

Gethers was looking good sorry to see that happen but since we are likely to have Cam Thomas anyway I am glad to report he was playing well according to the folks that were at the practices. Many comments indicated he looked much improved over what he displayed last season. Although from the comments during the season regarding him it would be doubtful how he could have gotten worse. So is it possible he had some injuries that were hindering him that he tried to play through? Nice that he decided to step it up a bit this year. Maybe we can keep one of the rookies and get them some playing time too.

Wasn't a fan of the pick up of Thomas, but good to see reports that he has improved.

I can remember comments on here (some of them mine) from Beachums first year. Turned out very wrong about hjm. Hope I was wrong on thomas, too.

Recently saw Gethers was not injured but has a condition. Now it seems that he may have some serious health issue. I hope that it is something he can overcome and not life threatening. It is one thing to be out of football, it is another to have all your other options taken away as well. Best of luck Mr. Gethers sorry we did not get to see you play ball. That info was from Labs on one of his updates with Missi. He did not go further with what the condition was so all we know is it put him on IR already.
