I Freaking New It!!!!!

Mrs. Ghost was/is pissed: She has tickets to see Don Henley and will miss her first Steeler playoff game in 30 years.

Just call the NFL the NNL - Nervous Nellies League.

830 game on a sunday night is ridiculous

It happens every week during the regular season.

I just think there is a lot of overreaction going on here. I'm not saying the league is not using the situation to experiment with ratings, but the weather forecast for the mid-west today was a ******* nightmare.

Just because it looks like th forecast was largely inaccurate does not delegitimize the league's decision to postpone the game, unless one was content with the prospect of the game being played on a quarter inch of ice in front of an empty stadium,

No 1PM game on a Sunday during football season??
And the NFL will "look at" the ratings from a Divisional Play-off game to basis for their decision?
Somebody needs to put down the pipe.

I'm surprised they ever schedule a playoff game for 1:00. That's 10:00 AM on the west coast so you gotta figure the only people watching are white people who don't go to church.

Aren't the championship games 3:00 and 6:00? Why not move the Sunday games to those times?

I agree. No reason to start the games at 1, and still early enough start time for the second game to not run past 11pm on the East coast.

Now, I'm not ringing the "racist bell" here. Just to be clear. I'd just like to gain a better understanding of what it is you're saying because I must've missed some type of connection.

It was a joke (Chapelle's Good Morning Black America - it starts at noon).

Anyway 10:00AM is bad time to schedule a game, I'm sure it hurts west coast TV ratings.

It's a quasi-holiday here (in Houston).

Govt. offices are closed, and there's no mail. But most everything else is business as usual.

It's the same around the state. Not sure how they pull it off (given the flak Arizona and other states have gotten over the years).

Understand this... its whatever tv wants... if tv likes it it stays... the nfl are just ****** for the networks whims

I'm all for it on this playoff weekend, because tomorrow is a National Holiday and I don't have to work! :becky:

Ahhhhh ... I see. Thanks for the information. Make's it clearer for the old fart (me).

I actually like the 10AM games out here. As posted earlier, I can watch my Steelers win, then have the rest of the day to enjoy the outdoors.
Even the late game won't be late for me, (5:30), but I would be somewhat pissed if I lived on the east coast and had to work the next day.

Funny, that's the same reason I'm not a big fan of 1:00 games. It kills me to be inside watching TV on a beautiful fall day.

An from all the reports from KC, this ice storm wasn't as bad as predicted.an, it will actually be worse at game time with all the rain that is forecast to hit. this game would of been better to stay at the original time slot.

I was watching all the reports and weather channel to see how bad it was going to get. 1pm it was pretty doable, and the weather folks said rain will only get worse into the evening.
This whole time change stinks of the Rog and his money grubbing dick rubbers.

LOL....I don't know, so I'll ask. What do "other" colors of people do when not at church on Sundays at 10 am when a game is on?

The NFL is going to watch the ratings for this game tonight. if it's a success, you'll probably never see another 1:00 kickoff time again in the playoffs. and i'll will be ******* pissed. Reported on NFL Insider

In that case the Whole Steeler Nation should just boycott the game tonight and watch Beaches instead! Who's with me now?

Yeah...I was skeptical from the get=go. They're going to change the time TWO DAYS before for weather? Even if the forcast is accurate, you can sure as heck expect the weather patters to slide earlier or later. They can't say it was going to happen at a precise moment. This was ALL about getting the game in prime time.

Steeler fan in Missouri chiming in here. Although the storm wasn't as bad as predicted, it was supposed to be extremely bad out here. The governor of Missouri called a state of emergency and called up the National Guard for this weekend. Even though it didn't freeze as bad as they predicted, the state pretty much shut down for the weekend.

Is that you Johnnylaw

They were predicting 10 million more people would watch the game in the 8:20 timeslot then the 1pm time slot... with mlk Jr. Day being tomorrow, its a kids day off from school. Id expect this to become the norm.
