The NFL is going to watch the ratings for this game tonight. if it's a success,you'll probably never see another 1:00 kickoff time again in the playoffs. and i'll will be ******* pissed. Reported on NFL Insider
 
Adam Schefter didn't just report it, he is going all in to advocated for the Sunday night playoff games. Definitely crossed the line as a reporter, IMO. As I saw someone put on Twitter, it really takes away the opportunity for children and families to watch the game as well as the growing European fanbase (you know, the place where the NFL wants a team). Nothing like preventing your future fanbase from watching the game. Hopefully it's a one-time thing, but I don't trust the NFL on this one and will be pissed if they make this a real thing in the future...and we didn't even get to competitive disadvantage.
 
The ratings will be massive no matter what time they play. As a result the NFL will probably get what they are looking for. If they are waiting for big ratings tonight as justification to change times in the future, they will get it tonight.
 
I'm surprised they ever schedule a playoff game for 1:00. That's 10:00 AM on the west coast so you gotta figure the only people watching are white people who don't go to church.

Aren't the championship games 3:00 and 6:00? Why not move the Sunday games to those times?

An from all the reports from KC, this ice storm wasn't as bad as predicted.an, it will actually be worse at game time with all the rain that is forecast to hit. this game would of been better to stay at the original time slot.

Now, I'm not ringing the "racist bell" here. Just to be clear. I'd just like to gain a better understanding of what it is you're saying because I must've missed some type of connection.

Or we could just leave them at 1:00 and 4:30

Not all black, Asian, Latinos go to church, you know.
 
If they did decide to make that the norm it could go against them too.

I'm a Steeler fan. Put two teams I don't care about in an 8:30 game and I more than likely don't even turn it on.

Also I can't speak for those on the west coast but when visiting I liked the games kicking off in the morning, still had all afternoon to do other things.

Ratings will be big because it's a playoff game and the Steelers are playing. Let's see how they go for a Sunday night game of Jacksonville vs. Carolina.

Well..........Being in LA I love the late slot.....It is 5:20 our time, so really sweet.....

I am one of the white people who go to church. :focus: I lead worship at the Church Sunday mornings 10:00 Pacific time, so I ALWAYS have to record the 1:00 games......My wife refuses to watch on delay with me and I can generally sense if we won or not....Not always, as she has learned to try not to tip her hand.....Bt if it is a tense game and she is relaxed, I'm thinkin' "we got this".......

So here on the West Coast we like later games....sorry guys
