I didn't hear you ..

You guys are both wrong. AB didn't do anything wrong on that play. It was a case of the Chiefs running a defense that they did not expect to see in that situation, and both Ben & AB reacting appropriately. No one wearing black and gold expected the Chiefs to opt for that kind of zone defense including dropping Justin Houston in coverage.

It doesn't matter what they were expecting, you NEVER run behind the defender in coverage, NEVER. Regardless of whether we were expecting something or not, when you run up to a defender in coverage you ALWAYS cross his face so it makes it harder for him to jump the route. What they were expecting means jack ****. You are the one who is wrong, and you have the audacity to call out someone else for their support of a player when you won;t even criticize Brown when he does do something wrong. Hypocritical much?

How in the hell is AB supposed to cross in from of Houston? Should he pray that he fits in between Houston and first down marker? Houston isn't a dumbass he was standing on the first down line so that he could try to keep the play in front of him and stop anything short of the first down. AB had to get deeper if he wanted to gain the first down.

The LB isn't running with AB he's standing there, if AB crosses his face he catches the ball in stride for an easy first down, similar to what NE did to us over and over again. The play worked everything is fine.

Your high school-level breakdown of that play is not worthy of a counter-argument. Hope you are having a good day and delicious lunch.

Someone tell me how he's supposed to run in front of Houston? If he does its fourth down and 3. #53 bumps Brown as he goes by knocking him off stride so that forces him to take longer to get across. There's no way possible Ben could've sat in the pocket and completed that pass.

So in plain words, you've got nothing.

He flattens his route and gets into the area behind the OLB in zone coverage. He catches the ball at the sticks for the first down. He ended up almost 8 yards beyond the sticks and ended up catching the ball 5-6 yards past the sticks. The play worked so I am not trying to say it was a failure, but the play took a lot longer to develop as a result and had Ben gotten sacked who would have been blamed?

Uh sure. Or other posters have already make you look like a fool. Are you reading this thread? Have a great lunch.

A fool is someone that can't make an argument for themselves or formulate a thought process...sound familiar?

If my Aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. What happens if Bradshaw gets sacked and Franco doesn't catch the tip? What happens if Henry Bailey catches that hail mary? What happens if Santonio only gets one foot in?

That's a still pic, Brown and Houston ended up 5 or 6 yards past the first down, Houston kept dropping and drifting with Ben, he had no idea AB was there, we almost ran out of room.

No he didn't. The first down marker was the 15. Brown went out of bounces at the 18.5. Go watch the play.

Watch the ******* highlites and let me know when AB crosses the 20 or the 19 for that matter. Since yinz are so sure he was "5-6" or "8" yards past the first down
It was a seven yard completion on third and 4 for ***** sake.

Maybe the problem was that Ben never thought - even for a nanosecond - of throwing the ball to someone other than AB on that play?

It was a hypothetical question.

Maybe but Rogers runs a two yard route and falls down, James and Hamilton go deep to draw coverage, from all accounts that play was designed for AB, no body else was remotely open, for some reason KC doubled James and Hamilton, they were hopefully killing their DC for that one

Watch the video, who else was he going to throw to? Please, enlighten us with your all knowing wisdom of who exactly was open on the play.

Well it pointless to keep arguing, it was a hypothetical ?. So what do you do with AB contract wise?

I think he will hold out and probably only play 6 games next season if he doesn't get a new deal.
If the Steelers think that too, they should look to trade him.

If the Steelers renig after playing cat and mouse with him for two years they're douchebags. AB didn't hold out like Hines and he never afraid to get hurt like Mike Wallace. You have to pay the man. We have 2-3 years left of Ben. You HAVE to keep all the weapons and play to win now. The window is closing rapidly. Without Ben and the lack of good QBs in this league we could be back to the Kent Graham, Kordell days in five years.

Ward held out of preseason and came back before he even signed a new deal.
So you're ok making him the highest paid wr in the game? What do you do with the guys on defense?
If what Cook wrote is true, the Rooney's would know this correct? If true, then they have perfect reason to renig, along with the Facebook live crap.
