I can't believe anyone watched that game all the way

I left with over 7 minutes to go in the 4th. Mostly it was because the Steelers blow hard, but it was also because the bar I was in had a huge know nothing blow hard. He was ranting, yelling and raving over everyone in the place about how the Steelers were giving the game to the Browns. Normally I can block that **** out, but this clown was loud, stupid and just downright irritating. By the 4th, my brain had leaked out of my left ear and since the lousy Steelers had done nothing to warrant me subjecting myself to a full 4 quarters, I got out while I could. If the waitress had done her job on time, I would have been out of there closer to the start of the quarter.

****. I bought another season of NFL Sunday Ticket this year to watch Steeler games.

I could have used that money for something else. ANYTHING else. I guess I could just watch other games and see how real teams play..

Have to disagree with you on that one.

Missing the playoffs this season will put Tomlin on the hot seat. Missing them again next year will make it sizzling.

The Rs won't put up with it four years in a row.
I bet they do. Best case scenario as mentioned elsewhere is that they won't extend his contract. He isn't going to get fired and I would be extremely surprised if he resigns.

I just don't see AR II sitting back and watching this mess week after week, season after season.

We're due for a surprise from him after another season of no playoffs (next year). Like moving Coach Tomlin along.

I watched until the bitter end. I was hoping to see jersey exchanged during handshakes. I was disappointed when we couldn't even do that right anymore...

I didn't make it.

Had it on in the garage but as others have said it was so nice out I decided to get some things done instead of subjecting myself to the steaming pile of **** they called a football game.

Depends on your point of view. It could also be argued that the decline began when AR II took over the team.

Yinzers may remember this from the old WXXP days.

Steelers are Unwatchable

Been a fan since 1974, too much of a fan like many of you. But this season has been different for the first time in my life thus far. I no longer look forward to sunday afternoon. I no longer believe in my team, its coach or many of its players. I can't stand to watch the product on the field as I have no belief in the coaches or what they are trying to accomplish.

Gone are the physcial players that would dominate games - there is no Greg Lloyd, Jack Lambert type on this team. Our only tie to that era is an aging James Harrison.

The secondary doesn't appear to have the ability to cover me as I sit in this chair to type my first post on this board. The blitz packages grew stale about 10 years ago and the D-Line plays as if there is an electric fence surrounding the QB and they are all wearing shock collars.

Pittsburgh was about defense. A strong and physcial defense that intimindated opponents.

Pittsburgh was about a mauling O-Line that imposed its will and RB that ran over people.

Pittsburgh has been a well-documented blue-collar football team for 40 years. This team is more blue-binky than blue-collar.

They've done the impossible as I no longer care to watch.

Whose Laughing the Most at the Steelers?

My guess is Bruce Arians. Since he left, he has had nothing but success and the Steelers have gone down hill.

They have a good record for now but the Steelers have only the second-worst red zone offense in the NFL. The worst? AZ Cardinals, naturally.

All true, but the league won't let teams play that way anymore even if we did have the talent.
Welcome to SN.com.

**** The Bruce.

Just because Haley sucks donkey balls, doesn't mean "send every body deep and watch Ben get killed" was a smart ******* way to play either.

There is no room for defense in today's NFL. Mostly because it hurts "big time" Fantasy Football players who are now the NFL target audience. The problem is much larger than the Steelers. The league is now a high flying, wide open, we'll penalize you if you try to hit an offensive player too hard, sham. The league is unwatchable.

I've had two people tell me in the past week that the NFL's mantra of "We are still selling out every game" is a joke too because they both went to separate games and both said the stadiums were half empty. They might be selling all the tickets but they aren't selling them all to paying customers who are attending the games.

I suspect a lot of them are sold to folks who were unable to resell them and got stuck holding the unsold tickets, scalpers.

I honestly don't believe that Ben is about five wide *******. I think he wants to run the ball and have a balanced offense. Run the play action. I just don't think he is down with the herky jerky play calling and I sure as hell am not. Play calling is about setting things up and making well timed strikes based upon match up and going against what you are doing. Their long pass to the Tight End after the bumbled field goal is a great example. They ran quite a bit. They'd run boot off the run throwing to the boot side, and then they went boot and leaked the tight end out opposite the boot and he was wide open. I know this is a little hard to believe because of the score, but the Browns only played that game significantly better for 1/4 and a half. But during that time ALL there plays were well timed and worked to perfection yielding three TDs. TH and Ben seem to have a list of plays and are randomly picking and hoping. Good play callers, in my experience have a rhythm and feel for the game. In his three years when do you feel Haley has had that feel. I certainly wanted BA moved out. Even if I admit that it might have been wrong (which I'm not) are we supposed to have Haley for four more years to prove a point. This is an outcome based business and his outcome has failed.

I agree with the assessment about defense and the changing NFL, but the Steelers have the tools to at least be interesting with what should be a high scoring offense. I know the defense is wretched, but I don't think I could expect much more. There secondary is a bunch of low draft no picks. The linebackers have been invested in, but none are special. The Dline has one good player. That is why I'm loathe to blame Lebeau too much. He is a coach not a magician.
You look at Seattle, they lost two games and the offense is struggling a little and one of their receivers went OFF. The Steeelrs seem to have no real passion. Like their coach who stands there as the team takes some of the worst calls in the league and just takes it. IT IS THE COACHING and the EVALUATION OF TALENT.

Fire Haley, hire Norv Turner.

Fire Tomlin, hire anyone that isn't so cliche'

That was severely mind-blowing, had to stick with it, it's in my blood but was it ever boiling on Sunday! Just seems that is year is the year we will get an unexpected SB champion even Seattle is not playing up to their level.
