How I rank our defensive players.

The defense lacks the ability to get to the QB - and, at times, stop the run - FACT.

I will go on record and say that adding an NT will not resolve these issues.

What do you think will fix the know problems??? CHANGE THE SCHEME to fit the personnel you have on your roster. That, IMO, does not mean that we change to a 4-3; nor, does it mean that we stay exclusively 3-4. If I was getting paid to provide advice (and I'm not), I'd suggest more nickel-based options for the personnel that we have and can bring in to compliment it.

Nickel 2-4-5; Nickel 3-3-5; Nickel 1-5-5 sure the formations have holes but they also improve on pressuring the QB and stopping the run all at the same time...

That is a good description for McLendon.

The three most important things for a 3-4 defense to have are a star pass rusher, a nose tackle. and a play maker in the defensive back field. Having one of these key's being under rated is another way of saying he's not a star player, but is playing a key spot.

This is complete nonsense. It's like saying the best thing a defense can have is good players. I think you've been listening to idiots like Phil Simms --- guys who spout obvious, meaningless drivel --- for far too long.
