How about Jack DelRio to replace Butler?

Del Rio would help...but he's not gonna make a player out of a draft bust
Ike Dupree or Burns. They look confused every damn play. They aren't often times not even close enough to anyone to touch them.

Our Dline got pushed around BIG TIME and our Oline got worked over pretty good too. Maybe the Oline needs some new blood because they got worked hard today.

I want to upgrade our positional coaches. Look at what Munchak did with offensive line. They went from a group of talented, high draft picks that underachieved to one of the best units in the NFL. Mann helped develop and elevate the receivers and did his best with a group of undrafted guys when we had some injuries. Even Saxon stepped in and has done a nice job with the running backs. Overall, the offensive coaching staff is outstanding.

I have no complaints with Mitchell coaching the DL. Olsavsky has done good work in his limited time (and very limited talent) at ILB. Lake has had very mix results, mostly underwhelming at DB and Porter hasn't developed a single OLB while having three first-round draft picks to work with. Time to upgrade this side of the ball and start with the staff.

I think we might be dreaming, the probability is that only Haley has a real shot of escaping this soup sandwich. Tomlin, and Butler will both be back.

The Steelers won't go into a year with two new coordinators. They will let Haley go and keep Butler who is a Tomlin lackey.

Probably right. But for me, I'd rather keep Haley and boot Butler.

If that's the case, that would be a terrible choice.

please get anyone else. the defense was pathetic today and someone needs to be fired for it. inexcusable.

I would fire every coach on the team starting with Tomlin! The only holdovers would be Munchak and some others but NONE of the main guys like butler and haley. All gone! They consistently come up short and that is not acceptable!

Oh yeah, I would take Del Rio over Tomlin in a HEARTBEAT! Heck I would love to see what a Munchak could bring to the table as well! TIme for the BUG EYED experiment to end!

LOL I was just gonna say that. If it were fire, I'd fire EVERY SINGLE coach but Muchak. Hell, I'd make Much the head coach, and hire Del Rio as defensive coordinator.

just flip OCs

Haley has a proven knack for ******* up some damn good offenses while Butler can make any offensive player look like a HOFer.
BOOM. solid. done.

I believe that TDX27 fella is up for Safety and Offensive Coordinator already. I heard he is even better when it comes to being Defensive Coordinator. I'd snag him in a heart beat.

Now that is funny right there. Butler's been on the Steelers staff since 2003, four years before they hired Tomlin.

Yeah maybe Burns will actually run towards the other teams players instead of run away from them.

All he has to do is grab the WR's jersey as soon as they run by him and keep ahold of it thru out the play. He should be pretty close to the action then. It was what the Jags DB's did yesterday anyways. Ben 60 plus drop backs....zero penaties on the Jags DB's....

Yep. It is the reason Dick was let go. Butler wanted a DC job. The one area I have always wondered...how much say does Tomlin have in who his Coordinators are. All these years and can he actually says these have been HIS guys?

The D would have performed just fine with our all world ILB being able to walk. Losing him was tough, and unexpected. We couldn't solve the problem of executing without him this year, so it will have to be addressed next season.

either an upgrade our nickel and dime sets need massive rehaul, Rex would bring in all sorts of different formations and not be scared to play press with 2 good sized CB.

Del Rio seems to do a pretty good job turning around a defense in year one.

I don't know how good the Raiders defense has been the last few years but if it gets Butler out of town I'm all for it.

I’d take Del Rio to replace Dumblin as HC. Replace Butler with Greg Lloyd. Now!

Might be sarcasm but I'm done with our ex-players coming in here and coaching. At least on the defensive side. I'm looking forward to see if Ward comes in to coach the WR's.

As much as we're blaming Butler, me included, when Dick left, the D became at least 50% what Tomlin wanted. Tomlin may be the real issue on D. If they do fire Butler, Tomlin needs to stay out of the D.

Therein lies the problem , build your D around 1 superior talent and he is unable to go....so is your D..lets do what we want on the DL 5-0 will fix it....lets do what we want at LB 5-0 will fix it..5-0 can't fix all..and the mindset of totally building around a player who had never played 16 games in his NFL career just boggles the mind... 5-0 was dynamic ...but if losing 1 player turns your D to mush...you are doing something wrong
