Hopeless Pittsburgh Steelers Vs Invincible Denver Broncos Divisional Game

Special teams cost us the game. Field position was key, and Wheaton really screwed us with his mishandling of the punts. Despite that, they had a chance until that fumble gave Denver momentum. I feel really bad for Fitz.

Not that it matters but if anyone knows....what is the specific rule when a player gives himself up? If a QB runs and slides he's down. Now, I'm wondering if a QB goes down in the backfield and slides to avoid to the ground is he down? Granted he wasn't touched but when a QB runs the ball and slides he usually isn't touched either. I'm confused.

I don't think Fivehead slid on purpose, I think he just lost his footing.

He clearly gave himself up but don't worry, all the talking heads will say how great of a play it was.

That was a great season. Great job by Tomlin the last two games. I love that he stopped coaching the game like it's a game of Madden. There are plenty of Tomlin haters, and I sit firmly entrenched in that camp, but I'm excited looking forward to next year

I think Ben has 3 TD passes in his last 4 playoff games. Not exactly the second coming of Joe Montana. I know I'm gonna take heat for this but that's fine. The guy piles up the yards but to be truly one of the greats you have to be able to put it across the goal line. He struggles to do that. Redzone passing is a lot different then when you have the whole field to work with. You have to make quick reads and throw into tight windows and the throw has to be on time. He sucks at it to be honest.

I don't think that he gave himself up. I think he tripped. Then once down there he thought **** it I give up. Realizing that none of our guys were anywhere to be found he got up and finished the play

Some want to blame this on the fumble. Look at the 2 obvious PI's not called - one in the endzone and one inside the 5. Call even one of those and we have a TD on the board. Funny how the horrible call on the Manning slide didn't come back to bite us. Although we would have gotten much better field position with a sack instead of the long gain.

We will go into next season as one of the favorites. We have a good offense even with half our players out.

And a defense that gained a helluva lot of confidence and swagger during these last two games.

No way was that a trip...watch again. He saw the pressure, jumped forward and slid then noticed no pressure and got up and threw.

Same boat

I'm proud of how we played. We could have won, but we could have also gotten blowed out.

We will feel better about this loss when the Broncos get blown out by the Pats**** next week.

Anyone else notice the team celebration Bronco's had after they picked up the ball from Ben's sack..

No penalty of course.

Eh NE will blow them out. Steelers were to injured to make a push any further. The Broncos gave all they had against a weakened Steelers team that took them to the 4th quarter. I'm proud of the Steelers

Tailb is also saying Ben faked his injury and was never hurt.. lol.

All I know is that if one of our guys would have drilled him on the ground, it would have been a penalty. Totally a BS call and the fact that it's unreviewable is f'n silly.

Can anyone explain the muff call? I know something similar happened to us vs Sproules(I think) a few years ago but I don't understand that rule.

You left out the MULTIPLE holding calls committed by the Broncs O Line against the Steelers D that were never called.
Sheesh!

Meh Talib is a classless goon... always has been.... just upset that ben stat-ted up on them on them twice
Talib has to play another game against a pretty savvy QB that reduced KC' s defense without too much effort.
Last I heard Brady was healthy.

Talib is lucky the refs had no balls or he has two major PI calls against them... Also, how in the hell do they not call the two Broncos definitely dancing and celebrating together after the 4th down sack? No FG if they call it... That being said, the Steelers had plenty of opportunities to bury the Broncos and didn't get the job done.
