I leave a blank space for you to fill in with whom you please.

I want each and everyone of us to HONOR the fallen patriot who died defending this GREAT COUNTRY of the United States of America... A Dad / Mom / sibling / close or distant family / Friend / Aquaintence / (if you have no one, then just observe in general) as it is these soldiers who sacrificed the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation and for you as an individual who enjoys the freedom you enjoy.

I tip my hat, verbally honor, and sincerely thank each individule who has died in the service of defense. I thank all Military / those who defend both enlisted and civilian. Each of us have our own losses personally but as a country we need to thank all for with out them we would not have what we have here, simpl;y put, we may not be able to fight here on this message board / flip someone off in traffic / argue or kneel for or against our flag / well you get the drift.

Set division aside, there is no room for petty injustice on this day. HONOR our fallen and thank those here in the now that are protecting us against and defending this great nation, the USA.

Sgt Joe Nurre of California. Soldier in the 463rd Engineer Battalion Company C. Made the ultimate sacrifice on August 21st 2005,outside of Sumarra Iraq. Traveling North on MSR Tampa, his 916 tractor trailer was hit by an ied. On behalf of a grateful nation, we remember him.
 
My thoughts and prayers go out to the fallen and their family and friends.. You died serving and how underappreciated you are country wide. I and DIC and many others do realize what sacrifices you made. And they do not go unnoticed. Let freedom guide them. R I p soldier. I salute you.

Staff Sergeant Kyu H. Chay, 34, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, died on October 28, 2006, in the Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his combat patrol. Chay was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Before he moved over to 3rd group, I served with him for a short time in D CO 313th MI BN 82nd ABN, he was an excellent Non-commissioned Officer, and an excellent human being.

Haven’t lost anybody I know personally.
I have two close friends and four family members who are combat vets though.

This day is for the families who have lost someone.
But do not let their sacrifice be in vain. We have freedom and liberty a lot of countries don’t.


Thanks to all you guys who were/are in combat.
 
I'll not point out anyone in particular. Personally, I thank God and my brothers and sisters in arms for protection whilst deployed.

I consider myself blessed to have most of my faculties in order and still have the ability to move and converse with those of us still on the top side of the earth.

Thank you both fallen and serving servicemembers alike.

I lost a friend and long time client this last December. Paul Graves who's story of survival when he should have died a few times over inspires me when I think I'm having a rough day.

The link above explains some of it. The details of taking an AK47 down his right leg 4 shots,a shot to the side below the liver, a shot through the bottom of his left leg that pushed the leg bone out on exit and a shot in the buttocks that grazed his testicles.

They actually had a rifle barrel to his head as he prepared to die,but they thought he was dead. Paul lost his right leg halfway above the knee and had a brace on his lower left leg.

He had the best attitude you could have for a man who survived so much. About 6 years ago he lost his wife of 20 years to cancer.

He went in for a simple heart stent procedure, came home and was having pain a day. He ended up throwing a blood clot and passed away 2 days later.

All citizens must be vigilant to fight against sending our troops into wars sold on lies. If you love the troops, you must be aware and awake and not let our troops sacrifice their lives and limbs unless it is truly to keep America safe. Period. I salute those brave men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice. We must take care of our vets and it is a sin that so many vets are homeless. They should never have that happen.

This thread is for soldiers that lost their lives to pay tribute, not for any of your agendas.
