As a fan of the Steelers, how disappointed would you be if the Steelers fail to win another Lombardi before Ben hangs up his cleats? For me personally, I would be pretty disappointed. Ben is arguably playing the best football of his career right now, the o-line is really good, and the offensive skill players are flat out ridiculous. If Ben, Bell, Brown, and Bryant were to play an entire season together it would be a show like the NFL has never seen before. I really believe that. Throw in a young defense that should improve dramatically over the next couple seasons and there really is no reason for them not to win at least one more title. Thoughts?

I would be disappointed, sounds greedy though having seen them win two pretty recently, but I grew up with the Malone's, blackledge, blisters, etc. I'm not looking forward to that again

You sir, are speaking blasphemy. I rebuke your question in the names of Mean Joe, Jack Lambert and The Chief!

I guess I would be pissed. I fully expect the steelers to win at least 1 more with ben

I'm disappointed each season we fail to miss the SB, so yes, I'd be disappointed in this situation as well.

The draft (generally speaking) and QB prospects (specifically) are mostly a gamble. I'd be disappointed... knowing that QBs like Ben are once-in-a-generation. Then to transition between great quarterbacks during a "dynasty" (i.e., Montana/Young) and keeping your SB hopes alive... that's even harder, so I'm pessimistic that once Ben decides to hang them up, we're in for a few down years. I'd love to win one this year, and another one in 3 or 4 years, so Ben can ride off into the sunset, Bettis-style.

Very disappointed if we don't win at least a third with Ben at the helm. When Ben is gone, it may be quite a while before we have a QB capable of taking us to another SB. Hopefully, Tomlin knows something about drafting franchise QB's.

I expect 19-0 every season every time. When the STEELERS fail in this, then yes I am disappointed. One thing though, I am disappointed less than with any other team in the NFL.

"Here we go STEELERS here we GO !!! "

Salute the nation

I'm fully expecting us to make it there this year, and hopefully win it. Next year we'll have Bryant back, and JUST with that addition and no other changes anywhere, this offense is insane. If we can just get the defense to keep doing what it's been doing and hold other teams to 3, I honestly think we're in position to see 2 in a row. Of course, that looks great on paper, we'll see in two years if I'm thrilled, or cursing whatever went wrong.

And yes, I'd be dissappointed, ****, Ben is the best qb we've had since Terry, and like Coryea, I lived though Malone, O'Donnell, and the endless list of scrubs that tried to be qb's here.

I'm disappointed right now. The Steelers are 1-4 in their last five playoff games with the " 1 " being gift wrapped by the Cinicinatti Bengals. If not for those fouls late in the game, we might be 0-5 in our last five playoff games.

In sports reality minus expectations = happiness.

The Steelers have a lot of talent and have not met expectations.

I expect the Steelers to make the playoffs every year and win a playoff game every other year.

I'm perfectly fine with the offense, and special teams.

Our defense is not close what it used to be. The pass rush and pass coverage was weak. I don't see that changing anytime soon though Burns flashed some talent.

Tomlin's game management skills, critical calls on when to go for it and when to kick, handing in injured players, ability to keep trouble-prone players out of trouble ( Not all on him but some coaches seem to work better with troubled players than others ) in the past have cost us in games.

If Ben doesn't play in another S U P E R B O W L again, it will be a failure.

I would expect us to get at least one more and possibly more with the team that is playing now. I have my doubts about the pot heads being able to get their **** together. I suspect we may not see Bryant again or if we do it might be brief, Bell is also a possibility for that route as well. Those guys are very talented and tremendous players but off the field stuff could wipe out their future.

Funny I remember everyone fussing that we couldn't draft and couldn't replace all the talent the previous coach left. Now we are super talented and should of won slowB repuS. I mean this conversation wasn't long ago on this board.

In Tomlin's first season, the players blamed him for the playoff loss vs. the Jags, saying he worked us too hard and wore us out. In his second season, Tomlin won his super bowl with Cowher players. Old stuff.

In the NFL the 12 playoff teams tend to have the best QB's. Yes, the team is talented, but without Ben, we are not. We saw that last year.

Landy Jones is still our back up...and the better defensive Cowher players, for the most part, have not been replaced, especially at DB and pass rusher.

So with Ben healthy, I expect more in the playoffs. Like I said our last 5 playoff games we are 1-4. If you're happy with that, so be it. I am not.

Blamed him?? I stopped reading after that.

The lost Super Bowl to GB still stings. The playoff losses always sting. This team has been very close but injuries to key players have kept us from being where we needed to be. Hopefully this team can continue to improve and we can get key pieces back that are currently hurt (and suspended) and we will ride this team to another trophy. The defense needs a lot of help getting pressure on QBs though.

Yet they did. See what Starks had to say. Old news...

Blamed him you find the quote and ask anyone if there was blame. Only one ever suggested blame is YOU.

Hell, the one to Dallas still stings. We should have won that one too.

We won a playoff game last year. One that had next to zero chance of winning. We did. Then we played the next week, banged up, and nearly beat the SB champions. Our D is improved significantly to last year. Our offense will put up points. Health and luck are key. I don't know many teams that would be able to win a SB without their starter.

The 1-5 playoff record is revisionist bullshit. Correct numbers to fit your age old, we haven't won a playoff game in 4 years. We did buddy, so screw your lies, damn lies, and statistics...

I would be disappointed to not win a seventh trophy with Ben as our QB. This football team has enough talent to win it this year and keep building and adding good players. Sure, we will lose some since you can't keep everyone, but I like the core of this team. This season we have Wheaton and Bell due back soon, then Green a few weeks later hopefully, and if the stars are aligned just right, Dupree and Golson mid season. I like our chances this season.

Next year we need a re-focused Bryant, most likely a franchise tagged LBell, plus these young receivers will have a year under their belt. Now add a few more pieces like a pass rushing LB'er and maybe a quality OL and a defensive back, then I like what lies ahead.

Now if we can just trade Coach for a six pack we'd be set. And I don't mean Tomlin.
