Hmmm No Jalen Ramsey discussion?

Yeah this is a bad trend. We used to cut / trade aging vets now we sign them. Bottom line is you can not buy a championship team it just does not work in the NFL. Guys need time to gel w/ each other. You could also bring in the best guys at each position and it wont matter if you have a terrible scheme. I do not think Ramsey will help the team much although he may take more risks than he is "allowed" to. We bring in these guys and make them play conservative schemes that just handicaps everyone. The pass rush gets handicapped by no blitzing or just being outnumbered up front, the secondary plays way too far off the WRs and leave big gaps between zones, QBs are handicapped by being told to throw outs or moon balls w/o using the middle of the field. The run game is handicapped by the passing game staying close to the line and telling the world when they are going to a run play. Maybe someday the FO will catch on....
You can buy a championship team because the Buccaneers just did it and so did the Rams just prior to them. There has to be a method to the madness though and Omar Khan has given me no indication whatsoever he has any clue what he's doing as a GM.

I think it’s the desperation of the Tomlin. He has low end assistant(s) and needs finished product to make anything happen. Tomlin is trying to take the guess work out of gettting players but at the same time is giving up the youth ness needed.

Remember Kendrell Bell, he was youth with NITROGLYCERIN in him. He was just turned loose in his early days and worked to develop, until injury got him.

Tomlin fits the old guys into his lazy-asZ scheme.

Salute the nation
And that's exactly why we look like a lazy-asz defense vs good teams and in the playoffs.

I don't know if this has been posted...

The Steelers also ranked near the bottom of the league last year (I believe 29th) in 1st quarter scoring offense.

To me, that speaks volumes regarding gameday preparation..

Exactly what happens in the playoffs, we come out and get destroyed in the first quarter/first half.

Should’ve got a sponsorship from a shovel company cuz they were quick to dig holes

I found it strange, too, that this hasn't been discussed considering all the normal off season belly aching...

Jalen Ramsey has been a nemesis in the team's side for a long time and he's aging but still played, not elite, but above average last year.

That being said, he can play slot and outside. I love Beanie, but I'm trading a 5th for Mr. "Sherbet in his pants" and this team instantly becomes a conversation piece for "deep playoff run"...
I love the optimisim, but the team is not a Jalen Ramsey away from a deep playoff run. I might be able to get on board if Jalen was allowed to be Jalen, but that will not happen with this scheme. We turned Minkah from a playmaker to a statue. We just waste talent with poor gameplans / schemes.
