They simply have to win 2 of the next 3 and they will be playing Baltimore at home for the division title. Anything less than that and they are likely gone. I don't see Baltimore winning 3 in a row before their game in Pittsburgh so that is what it really all boils down to. Yes anything can happen but that is the way I see it. Make no mistake....today's game with the Giants is not an absolute must win but it is pretty damn close to being one. Do we as fans really think they will go to Buffalo and Cincinnati and win two straight on the road? Today's game is a monster for their playoff chances....they have to defend their home turf. Go Steelers! Oh, and Go Dolphins!
 
They have to beat Baltimore and win one more than Baltimore. If that means every week a W. That is what it means.

You don't want to tie losing to Baltimore as then its bye bye playoffs. And to do anyhing in preseason you have to get on a roll.

A lot of scenarios but most of them bad with a loss or two.

Way to avoid that? Just win baby win.
 
I am counting on the Steelers winning out. I also think I want the Ravens to knock off the Dolphins today as they have a tough schedule down the stretch and a head-to-head matchup with us left. Try to get Miami down a few games and ahead of them in the Wild Card picture.

Some ragged play tonight and fortunate that Elli could not make the plays down in red zone. We have the Bungals, Buffalo and Ravens, no easy task for the Steelers, they need to be on their A game.

I call bullshit. There's a reason that Eli didn't make plays in the red zone. It's called the defense. You don't get 3 stops on fourth down, a goal line stand and two turnovers all in one game because of Eli. You get those things because the defense made plays. Further, no one is "wishing and hoping" to make the playoffs. I fully expect this team to make it to the tournament.
 
I expect the Steelers to make a push at the moment as well. This game is a step in the right direction and the team can build on this victory. The question is: will they?

I hope you're right, but imo they are a more physical team than we are right now and Tomlin likes to go super conservative vs them lately
 
JEEPERS, they are playing better every game and the opponents are better too !!!!! This chicken little crap is just that. ENJOY the win and think positive. Can they regress, oh yes but did you see the urgency shown many times by Rothlesberger???? They are serious and starting to gel / play / team all at the right time. The Ravens played the crappy dolphins that we thought we were going to play. The raven's aren't that good and when we play them I see a 12-18 point win for us. Ladarious Green is exactly what we were looking for and needed with the other injuries to WR. Our defense held a pretty good offense to not much today. NO Eli M. didn't give it to us, we TOOK it from him.

It's not chicken Little crap, you can enjoy the win and still have concerns, we look like we are getting better, but so does Baltimore

I think a lot of us seriously underestimate Baltimore. They have a very good run defense and a pretty solid pass rush. Wallace gives Flacco his deep threat and Smith/Pitta his possession guys. No run game but remember every time they get to your 40 they have an automatic 3 points and Flacco is playing with house money.
 
A possible back door to the playoffs is 10 wins. They would need the Broncos and Fish to falter. The Broncos are 8-4 with the same conference record. They play Tenn, NE, KC, Oak. Not a lot of gimme there. Fish got it quite a bit easier with AZ, Jets, Buff, NE. All this fluke **** with KC and Oak is hurting. 10 wins is no Guarentee this season.

In that same respect, many are underestimating the STEELERS and you know what??? I'd take the STEELERS with Ben Rothlesberger any day over Joeseph Flacco. I understand your reserve as I've seen what your seeing. Could the Steelers get beat, hell yes. BUT the factor still remains, The STEELERS are winning and against tougher teams, that say something right there. Dolphins vs Giantsd=giants win every time. Giants have a pretty good RUN defense and can get after the QB, well our OL didn't do such a bad job yesterday either. Point being, we are clicking and hard to beat. OUR "D" handled a very good offense.

The bottom line is I am still not convinced that if we make it to the playoffs we will advance in the playoffs. I still see this team under Mr. Tomlin as a one and done team. Last year we only advanced because Burfict is a head case.

Why because the Rats stomped the Phins? An injured Dolphins team? Steelers lost to Baltimore with a QB still recuperating, terrible coaching decisions and other injuries at key positions. The Steelers team are playing much better now and more confident on Defense. If they stay healthy at this pace could win. Oh it will be a typical AFCN slugfest but it will be at home.

The Giants best pass rusher left early too, but no not just because they crushed Miami, but because they have our number as of late, they've beaten us 4 times in a row and 5 of the past 6 and I think their defense is more physical than ours.
