He is not a Steeler.

Smashing Pumpkins sucked balls...the lead singer sounds like he's in the middle of pushing out a monster turd, red faced and bulging vein on his forehead.

I know Billy Corgan is one of those kind of artists where you think he's **** or love him (and I actually can't stand to listen to him speak - he's so ******* pretentious and self-important), but SP Siamese Dream was one of the first albums I listened to cover to cover on repeat and fell in love with so I'll never shake it.

They also sucked balls live early because they relied so much on studio editing, overdubbing guitars etc., but they got infinitely better through the years. I get it, believe me.

LOL, It’s been fun seeing this thread keep going, and going even though it has nothing to do with OP title.

Great thing about music, each genre impacts the other. All those great grunge bands of the 90s, hair bands of the 80’s plus the metal bands can point their influence from AC/DC, The Who, Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Deep Purple. But it’s no doubt Led Zeppelin was spoken as their greatest influencer. Zeppelin IV, Houses of the Holy, or In Through the Out Door goes on the turn table when I need 2020’s mania off my mind.

I can literally listen to any music style. I'm a punk rocker, but I still routinely challenge myself to listen to different styles. I like almost everything except death metal and experimental jazz. Not a fan of soft rock either.

Just had Dolly Parton on last week, then did the Sugarcubes then Bjork, then Beasties (great documentary up BTW), had some MGMT, of course the wife and daughter have show tunes on a lot. We're a music house over TV anyway (unless it's football season!).

Oh and Cake. I'm into Cake hard core right now.

Love me some Cake (and the band). I could listen to Prolonging the Magic front to back on repeat and that wasn't even considered their best album. So many hidden little gems there.

And same here, can listen to just about every genre of music.

 Houses of the Holy has a special place in my heart.

I must have been drunk last night since I didn't add Led Zeppelin to my list.

I was that way early, then 10 years ago my buddy got me to re-appreciate Comfort Eagle, and that was my favorite. I don't know how I missed Pressure Chief in their discography, But I'm all over that album this year. That and Motorcade of Generosity.

I'm not familiar with Pressure Chief, will have to check it out. But love Comfort Eagle as well.

I think I have listened to everything you mentioned. My only not listen which you didn't mention is opera. Enough screaming ******* here if I feel like listening to opera. [emoji16]

Probably their best album for the guitar and bass playing off of each other. Lots of quick call and response riffs.

My great aunt was an opera singer in Berlin in the fifties. Kind of famous too.

I listen to a lot of different music but it is older stuff

The Temptations, Jackson Five (michael jackson sucked), Ray Charles and all that old Soul music

Classic Rock...the bands I listed before and older stuff. Rock before the hair bands took over and then handed it off to grunge and alt rock both of which suck ***

Country music...the real oldies like George Jones, Patsy Cline or more in my time Dolly, Kenny Rogers, George Strait...or a little newer Alan Jackson or any of the ones doing real country, not the Pop music which they try to pass off as country

Old school rap like Sugar HIll Gang.....hell I played basketball in junior high and high school and was one of the few white boys walking the halls in junior high singing Rapper's Delight
as I"ve said, one of the few newer bands I like is Disturbed...they rock like AC/DC

Don't care what you younger ******* say....alt rock and grunge sucked *** Pop music sucks ***...and that includes Michael Jackson. i remember everyone being so excited to get home and tune in MTV for his release of the Thriller video....damn that ******* sucked

as did U2 and The Police and Sting and those type of groups

I like to embarrass my high school son by blaring Fat Bottom Girls when I pick him up after football games....

Great post Coolie (minus alt rock sucks) but that last sentence is epic

Love old Motown & Malt Shop oldies.

I also love to start playing Heard it through the Grapevine, when my boy is in my truck since for some reason he hates that song.

but he likes Clarence Carter's song Patches....haven't played him his song Strokin' yet though

if you don't know it...google it...and play it for your wife

My god man, pierced my heart. What a pleasant sounding melody while the lyrics just destroy you. Family, loyalty & loss, hard work & truthfulness - my how things have changed.

Thanks for the tip man. Patches at the top of my playlist right now.
