Has Brady hit the age cliff?

Max Kellerman says he is hitting the age cliff and hitting it fast. He says no QB has ever been very good when nearing 40. Brady is 39.

He says never, in the history of the NFL, has any QB ever maintained excellence when nearing 40. Manning didn't. BUT, Brady didn't have the injuries Manning did.

Tom says he can play until 50. No one believes that. Ryan Clark says Brady has 3 more good years.

What say you? I think the end is more near than TB does. This could be his last year with legit championship hopes. That may be bad news for us.

Can you think of any QB who was still top shelf at 40? Len Dawson last year was at 40 and he was no good.

Flutie had a decent season at 41.

Sonny Jurgensen played until 40, but that was it.

Vinny Testaverde played over 40, and was OK, but he was never really that good to begin with.

Moon was still decent after 40, but not a winning QB.

Favre, the biggest QB freak ever, had a great season at 40, but then was a shell of himself after that season.

I think it's all going to depend on the team around him. Brady hasn't taken the punishment that a lot of QB's have (thanks to the office of RG). I honestly can see him playing good football the next 5 or 6 years.

Brady has been solid. Yesterday wasn't his best day but obviously his knee isnt in as good of shape as they're saying.

History, as Max points out, says no way Brady has much time left. I don't see 5 or 6 good seasons, I think we see the drop now or next year, unless he is crushing some HGH/testosterone, which he could be.

I thought his release looked weird yesterday. I think he is more hurt than they are saying. I don't think he hit the age wall. He had not showed signs of slowing down previously

Yea, classic Hoodie to keep all injuries in the shadows. TB did look hobbled. And Gronk was definitely not right. If the playoffs started today, I think they'd be in trouble. But in a few weeks, they could be healed more.

The more I ask myself "will this guy ever slow down?" the more frustrated I get. So a while back, I made the decision - I'm just going to assume Br*dy will play at a championship level in perpetuity until I am proven wrong.

Brady lives a much different life style than any other player I have ever heard of and I am ******* old. This is a much different NFL also. with his high level of income and advances in modern medicine it would not be crazy to expect Brady to play till 60 and live to see 150 years old. (help me tom cruise).. And if you were just going to tell me you were right and I was wrong why did you ask what we thought??????

The crazy money does afford players the ability to stay in top condition, and maximize their bodies over a longer period of time. This is true in all sports. I can't remember a time when so many old guys were playing at a high level. Jagr is in his mid 40s. I remember when it was rare for a hockey player to be 37 or 38.

Brady will retire on his note. The guy can still dustribute the ball and is smart as ****. Hate to give the cheating ***** credit, but Tommy boy can ball and has that killer attitude to run up the score. I wish the Steelers would humiliate a team every once and awhile

Jagr has the weirdest way of doing things. He skates around after games wearing a 40lb weight vest. Now I may be talking bs, but my theory with athletes being bigger, etc is because of the technological advancement in the medical field. Athletes get understanding in how to lift in a way that not only maximizes muscle growth but increasing blood flow and strengthening the connective tissues as well. ACL injuries are not even a threat anymore. Provided there are so many access to supplments to enhance performance and recovery

Father time doesnt care about modern medicine or Tom Brady. He cant play much longer. He is old. The body breaks down.

Take away his meds and he will become average. You don't think a cheating cheater will do anything to keep the advantage....... YES he will and does. When t*mmy b*y quits I will be happy and wondering how much his cheating advanced his career. When we play them this year and it doesn't matter where, JAMES HARRISON will get that one catastrophic sack allowing both of them to retire.

Salute the nation

I will celebrate his retiring, and celebrate when that cheating coach steps down as well...........

Is it bad to wish a kick/punt returner runs into hoodie?

Don't wish injuries, but if someone stomps that ***. I probably would laugh.

So far, there is no sign of him slowing down. I can see him playing at a high level for a couple more years. I hope not but it definitely looks possible.

Wait, let me try to understand your logic. Because I asked what you thought, but don't agree with it, I am not allowed to disagree with your opinion....I am trying to follow this logic but am having trouble.

Yes, lifestyle and modern training/diet/medical may add a year or two, but no way several. Only thing I see that would allow much more time than average is HGH, etc.

He does age well. I think he wins one more ring before he retires

Well, remember when Manning made everyone feel he could play at the highest level for a while? In 2013 Manning threw for world record 5,477 yards and 55 TDs. IN 2014, production started to drop, to 4,700 and 39 TDs and last year, although he won a SB, the bottom dropped out to 2,250 and 9 TDs. It was over. Just like that. And Max point is it will happen to Brady in the same manner.
