Love him to death as a player.

But at this point he needs to shut the **** up

One time he loved him some Tommy Tom, now he is spitting venom.

Regardless if we agree or disagree on his talking point, not overly smart to be burning bridges.

But being smart isn't something we can accuse him of,

obviously.

I believe the Harrison split from the Steelers is particularly rocky. I don't know all the facts, but it seems pretty clear that Harrison feels it was made very clear to him that if he came back for another season, he would be a starter and a major contributor. When that DID not happen and no communication regarding WHY it didn't happen was forthcoming, I think he went full-on passive aggressive. And the subsequent release has made both sides very very bitter.

Ironically, we have the same ball-park of a situation occurring with the new "hardest-working" guy on the team. Brown has undoubtedly worked harder, longer and better than anyone on the entire team. And he took it upon himself to assume some perks that other guys have enjoyed (Ben, Bell) and his hand was SLAPPED. I suspect 90% of this is Brown saying WTF to what he considers a blatant double-standard. And if there IS a blatant double-standard that falls on the guy allowing the double-standard.

At the end of the day, every way, every how falls on Tomlin and his inconsistent management. We've been focusing so much on how badly he sucks at clock management and calling for replays, we failed to see how ****** he is at managing his players.

I don't care if he was promised to start. **** happens. He quit on the team. A shame. Was one of my all time favs. Now he is just another person talking out of his *** for a dollar. Sad actually.

I am not a Harrison fan, but team was not loyal to him so he was / is not loyal to them. Cant blame him for making a buck. Sure he could have handled the situation much better, but week in and week out when inferior players continued to get put out there im sure he said F-it.

Agree. Deebo is being Deebo but I do believe that Shades promised him more playing time than he ended up getting and the younger LB's still sucked. Again, Shades and the FO trot their high draft picks out there hoping a switch goes on so it doesn't look like they ****** up but all it does is make it look like they ****** up.

I wish more ex players would opine publicly on the current state of the team and what they think is wrong. Harrison obviously does not bleed black and gold. I’m fine hearing his opinions.

Amen. Far as I'm concerned, let's not just stop with James, they need to get a microphone in front of guys like Hines and Troy, maybe Big Snack and Deshea Townsend, Faneca, let 'em preach!

I'm sure Faneca would say some bad things.
He didn't like Tomlin if I remember correctly.

Troy needed to accept the fact he was done. He was getting injured a lot.
Townsend and Ward --- I do not believe they would bad mouth the Steelers.

See I might be a minority but there is a few reasons I don't care for it. One it brings even more drama to a team that often bathes in it. Two you really aren't getting the unbiased opinion with a Sanders or Deebo as they have a chip hanging on their shoulder, so you can't be sure their opinion isn't influenced. Troy is the exception he is a straight shooter but like was said likely will stay in the shadows. Would be a hard find. Because they are either still in the league and don't want to burn bridges or a butthurt ex player or a idiot, Mitchell comes to mind. Or far removed from the pulse of the team.

Several here have hit it on the head. Harrison speaks his peace, right or wrong and is very "BRASH" about it as it's also a way to garner attention. James desires attention and how he gets it is by speaking out / non-conform / even if it costs him money, look at his time while being fined (a lot). He badgered "the rog" costing him more $$$$ but keeping in the lime lite. Once this all dies down and James is a few years removed from current team,.......what will be his next attention getter....or.... Will he be continueing to be a non-in-the-know STEELERS brasher???

Salute the nation

Understand that Harrison isn't mad because of money OR stats. He was pissed because the HC lied to him about playing time and the same HC lied to the owner about his "plan" to use Harrison.

Do you think this is a first and only time where a coach had a plan for someone and then Something changes and the coach plans change? When he signed with the Bengals and was getting limited snaps I wonder if he did the same thing? Bottom line is he was getting his pay check. He needed to act a professional. He chose to act like a child because he didn't get his own way. Amazing really that he went to the extremes he did. Never would I have thought Harrison would have done the things he did. He poisoned a season because he wasn't getting his snaps. Instead of being a team player.

Then why didn't Tomlin tell Harrison that? He didn't. He just kept lying. Harrison just wanted to be told the truth and he couldn't get it from Tomlin. He even lied to the ******* owner about it. BTW it should be telling that the ******* HC is making defensive personnel decisions and NOT the DC...

It's not like Shades replaced him with someone better.

Like we know what the exact convo the two had between each other. He'll Tomlin might have told him that he would get limited snaps and that is what started Harrison's hissy fit. To me this isn't aboit Tomlin(fire his ***), it's about Harrison's character. He quit on the Steelers.

So you think Harrison is lying? Bullshit. Tomlin or Rooney would come out and say that it wasn't true. But they haven't. Everybody knows what happened and only people that want to bash on Harrison think "well we don't know what was said." We have a good idea because Harrison didn't go from being a great LB and Pittsburgh Steeler player to a quitter for NO reason. He didn't just quit one day. He only played in 5 games. He would show up and not have his uniform in his stall. It's obvious what happened. He has no reason to lie about it.

Also it tells me about Tomlin's character. He lied to Harrison and he lied to the owner. Period.

From the outside looking in, it doesn't seem as though Tomlin is a great communicator. He clearly didn't appropriately communicate with Harrison regarding his role. He didn't explain the expectations to Brown for failing to get an MRI or missing practice and then didn't explain to the team that Brown wasn't playing.

Harrison returned to Pittsburgh for the alumni festivities in early December before the Chargers game. Obviously the Steelers invited him back, so I don't think he has a beef with the organization in general. Or vice-versa.

He just can't stand Tomlin.

Again you keep making this about Tomlin. For me it's about how Harrison behaved. He quit on the TEAM. More so than AB did. I could careless what Tomlin did or didn't say. Harrison flat quit on the TEAM.
