Harrison has been signed by Cheats

My only problem with the release. You fire someone who won't be picked up, so you can pick them up later if needed. Xavier Grimble, Dan McCullers, Feiler, Finney, Sensabaugh. These guys would not be picked up by anyone.

You have to be smart, especially when your staring ROLB is still on STs.

This is a good take on the situation. Don't release someone who is going to help a contender in any way.

He’s a 39 year old LB with 3 tackles on the season. You act like it’s a no brainer he would get picked up. Like the Steelers had to out bid other teams in free agency to sign him.

I think just about everyone had him pegged to New England the second he was released.

I just ******* said that

The Patriots biggest weakness is pass rush. Why would you release someone who will INSTANTLY make your primary competition stronger?

******* around here do nothing but steal my stuff

Ok here it is. Janes is really 007 the secret double agent. He will go there and give them bogus info all the while gathering intel on the Pats and sending it back to agent Tomlin.
What else could it be!

In all seriousness, could this be possible? Reverse mind games? lol.

He's done.

What one commenter on this video had to say captures the mindset of a lot of posters on this board.

I've never seen the Patriots emasculate an entire team and fanbase the way they have with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Brady doesn't have my nuts in his purse. I have no doubt we will beat their ***** if we meet up again.

Since we were blatantly cheated out of two lwoB repuSs without any repercussions done to them, not to mention last weeks game, yeah the fan base gets a bit testy about them.

So who knows the tendencies and weaknesses of the Steelers OL better than James Harrison? Ya, no one.

"you sit at home"? who the **** are you?? you don't tell another grown *** man what he can and cannot do with regards to how he shapes his career in his field of choice, your homeristic dick-pulling bullshit perspective be damned.

Belichick tells players to sit each week depending on game plan / opponent....They are all "grown *** men"...I don't see why you're all butt hurt about the comments made...Be a grown *** man and move on...

I disagree ...especially about Finney...He would be gone...McCullers ,probably....

LOL at all the Nervous Nellies and Debbie Downers in this thread. Get a grip, people.

Former Steelers offensive lineman Trai Essex, who played seven seasons with the Steelers, posted Tuesday afternoon on Twitter that the whole info swap fear going around since Harrison signed with the Patriots “is drastically overblown.”

“Players switch from team to team all the time. And there is nothing the Pats would learn new that they can’t get from a season’s worth of game film,” Essex tweeted.

I reached out to Essex for more information on this topic Tuesday night and especially concerning how the Steelers might ultimately handle their calls and signals moving forward should they ultimately play the Patriots again in the AFC Championship game.

“They switch signals from week to week anyway,” Essex told me. “James won’t even know which signal is which. They won’t be the same as they were last time they played New England.”

So, fans and the media are blowing this all out proportion, right?

“Even if he [Harrison] could (he couldn’t), New England players would have enough to worry about within their own game plan,” Essex told me. “So either they would have to memorize every signal we had every week on top of what they are doing, or James would have to give them live translation during the 45 seconds they have to get play calls in in between plays. It’s silly.”

Sickening. I honestly don't think it will amount to a hill of beans in the game but it's sickening.

Before cutting him on Christmas Eve, we kept him healthy and fresh for their playoff run.

Brilliant!

FIRE TOMLIN!

Based on the reaction from Steelers players, nobody seems even a tad bit upset by this. They must have seen what Steelers coaches and front office did in making the decision to let him go. Loved Deebo for everything he did over the years. Of course Belichik plays his usual mind games and offers him a contract, for $60k or something like that. And Deebo played right into his hand. Dumb move on his part, sadly will do nothing but tarnish his Steelers legacy. And don't forget Harrison cleared waivers, which means none of the 31 teams thought highly enough of him to want to secure his services. Saddest part of the story is to see the yellow-bellied Tomlin haters use this to spew their bile and hate. Ho hum, let's see what the gameplan will be against the Brownies.

Tampon shipment got delayed due to the snow storm. Yall ******* are gon' have to sustain the best way yall know how.

James was finished. If he had anything left he would be on the field making plays. Hes riding on past glory now and the coaching staff, whom sees him daily, knew this. Let him become their liability now. All he is, is strong for now. No speed left.

New England has problems trying to figure out what they need to do to contain AB, Bryant, JuJu, Bell and one of our TEs. Our next game, should we meet them, might be 45 to 41 coming down to a kick. They never demonstrated they could contain this offense and if not for a ****** up blown call reversal and the lack of yellow hankies called against them, we would be up two games on those cheating ******** securing homefield all the way to Minneapolis.

SO, **** James, **** Hoodie, **** Marsha and **** you woefully despondent, emotionally cycle-triggered Nancy's.

What does Harrison have that is valuable? Steelers don't double Gronk? Haden makes their secondary better?

How many of our 7 sacks did Harrison have again last game? That's right. Zero...

Deebo is a dick for signing with the cheats. I hope he doesn't show his face around Pittsburgh. Let the Cheats retire his Jersey.

FIRE TOMLIN!

It’s about time you’re on the fire Tomblin bandwagon it took you long enough

Thanks for all the level headed expert perspective on Harrison. I don't know what I was worried about. Belichick obviously doesn't know what he's doing. It was stupid to question Tomlin. I mean he's never had a losing season and we have a first round bye.

You mean the 5-10 snaps in the Ravens game he had? After not playing a single snap for like 5-6 weeks. You can’t judge him on tiny sample size, what about the Chiefs game? Did he do anything in that one? So he all of a sudden lost everything a span of a few weeks.

I'm guessing you're basing your analysis on Harrison's performances during practices with the scout teams each week?

Belichick unfortunately knows exactly what he's doing.
He also has a glaring deficiency at DE and OLB. Even if Harrison can give the Cheats 80% or more it's better than nothing. Harrison will likely get snaps against the Jets and even if they're just an AFCE beat down for the Cheats, the Jets will test Deebo.
Guess we'll have to watch 'n see?

One interesting take on the signing - http://www.stltoday.com/sports/foot...cle_5bdb81e0-fc3f-5e25-b0f6-46759164f5a6.html

But we believe the Patriots not only see Harrison as a helpful addition at a need position, with the team thin at the "edge" spots — the team had to pick up Eric Lee there, is featuring fourth-round rookie Deatrich Wise heavily and has moved linebackers (such as Trevor Reilly, who was released to make room for Harrison on the roster) into that role.

This also could be a signing with the Patriots' first playoff opponent in mind. If the Patriots can clinch the top spot in the AFC, there's a chance they could face the AFC West champion Kansas City Chiefs, the team that stunned them in Week 1. And though the 39-year-old Harrison hasn't played much this season, he has had a history of dominating Chiefs left tackle Eric Fisher.

Harrison's most extended action this season came in Week 7 against the Chiefs, when he logged 18 of his 38 snaps on defense this year. Harrison provided a late sack and a handful of pressures to help the Steelers win and prevent a late Chiefs comeback. And in January, Harrison also had a sack and later drew a key hold against Fisher with a strong pass-rush move at game's end as the Steelers held on for a postseason victory at Arrowhead Stadium.

Prior to the Week 7 game this season, Steelers defensive coordinator Keith Butler said he wanted to feature Harrison in an expanded role because “it’s always good to have James Harrison when you’re playing Kansas City and let the offensive tackle [Fisher] see him.”

Additionally, the Patriots' coaches took note of the Fisher hold and used that play — with the same officiating crew as the Chiefs-Steelers playoff game — to exploit Falcons left tackle Jake Matthews at the end of Super Bowl LI. Surely, the Patriots know all about Harrison, who has faced the Patriots 10 times in the Belichick-Tom Brady era. But that matchup with Fisher had to be fresh in their minds.
