Just about everyone agrees it was a dirty hit. Except for Brown's own teammate! James Harrison, who has had his share of fines and flags for controversial hits, came to Burfict's defense after the game.
"By rule as they told me when I went down to New York that is a penalty. Personally, I don't think it is because I don't think you can get out of the way fast enough," Harrison said on NFL Network following the game, via FOX Sports.
Harrison also added Burfict can be "a little bit out of control" but is also "calculated" in how he pushes the line.

Meh that looked intentional to me. He had a few steps to get out of the way, plus it looked like he brought his arm / elbow up. Definitely do not think this one was an accident

plus he was trying to be politically correct

a non story IMO

Mike Mitchell was interviewed also...he wouldn't call it a dirty hit either. Seemed like neither one wanted to fan the flames

Then don't say anything. Say I didn't see it or no comment. Burfict was definitely going for the head. Cheap shot in my opinion.

Harrison also said that Berfect has trouble playing 'in control'. And he's known to play 'out of control' while he was in Cincy as well.

Another article I read detailed a number of concussions that Burfict gave himself when trying to take out other players and the missed games as a result.

I took the whole thing as being, I'm not going to get baited into sounding like a hypocrite. He said the hit was illegal, but the game is fast. I thought he spoke well.

Burfict did it intentionally... he even mouthed Payback on the screen... 10 years ago this was a good hit and why teams didn't throw over the middle as much... now its all pussified and it isn't allowed... that being said Burfict is as dirty a player as there is right now in the game.... he would have fit on the Ravens or Raiders of years past

Burfict has had a rep of delivering cheap shots since his playing at Arizona. Anybody seen film on his HS days if he even went?
